Got mine delivered today. Picking one up for my buddy tomorrow.

I’ve been playing Miles Morales while I wait for Demon’s Souls to be delivered. Other than a couple minor technical glitches, no issues so far. Everything looks great and the console runs super fast. I’ve heard of people running into some issues, including one reviewer having their console permanently brick, but nowhere near the issues that have plagued the Xbox launch.

Haven’t seen the xbox issues outside the fake vaping videos...but I’m sure both are having minor technical hiccups. It’s why I’m waiting on both.

Might give in and get the PS5 in a couple months though.

There have been a lot that were DOA - didn’t even turn on the first time.

There have also been a lot with disc drive issues, where either you physically cannot put the disc in or it starts making an awful mechanical clicking when trying to read the disc.

I’ve also seen some that have fans that run about as loud as a jet engine.

That being said, these probably represent a small fraction of all the day one consoles, and people aren’t going to be inclined to post unless they’re experiencing issues.

I read there’s issues with ps5 rest mode, and external storage via usb. So in have been trying to avoid both. Changed settings so the console would not automatically go into rest mode, but I left it downloading games while I went to my nephews house to help him set his up, and when I got back it was in rest mode anyway. Luckily no issues turning it back on.

I've had ethernet connected since startup with no issues, knock on wood.

That’s all the ones I’ve heard of so far. A lot of the storage and rest mode glitches seem to be linked to Spider-Man Remastered, so I’m holding off on downloading and installing it until that gets patched.

If I do buy Miles Morales Deluxe right away, does it download Spider-Man Remastered by default?

Not sure about the digital version, but for the physical version, there’s a card with a code inside the box for you to download it.

I recommend checking out the PS5 subreddit. There’s been a lot of good info put out there by people who have encountered issues.

I'm going to wait to buy one of the new consoles. All the PS5 games that matter are also on PS4 right now. Sure, they load slower and don't look as pretty, but until we start seeing some real next-gen exclusives, I'll stick with my PS4 and wait for them to iron out all the technical kinks with the new tech.

Yup. Started AC Valhalla. Waiting on the combat to pick up, but game seems fun so far.

I've been alternating between that and starting up a fresh run of Darkest Dungeon, as I had been reading the complete works of Lovecraft before I started Abercrombie's new book and it made me want to go back to it. Still not very far in Valhalla, though. Haven't even left Norway yet.

I just got darkest dungeon on my ipad actually! Great game
