The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Walking around the city at night in Cyberpunk feels like you're in Blade Runner.

I'm gonna sit and weep today because of the new Mass Effect trailer. Excited, but also scared shitless after the past few games. I know this isn't the Bioware of the past, but as soon as you bring back anything from a beloved franchise you get excited. I've made my thoughts on how Andromeda wasn't as bad as it was made out to be a few times on here. Still enjoyed it. So a follow up to that would be cool, but the trailer tease seems to be sometime after the Trilogy...

I'll take all the shitposting until it comes out. In the meantime I'm waiting to play Cyberpunk on a Series X I don't currently have unless it comes to Gamepass hella early.

Zero chance that game is good. BioWare is dead.

I’m willing to get hurt again in a fruitless pursuit of capturing the magic of the original trilogy.

The way I am looking at it -- I'm content with a remastered original trilogy. The announcement of a whole new game with the original cast (presumably)? That's just gravy.

Meh. Like most things in gaming, we've moved on. BioWare is dead and gone and companies like CDPR, Larian, and Obsidian have replaced them as the companies making the best RPGs of the day.

This was always inevitable once BioWare sold out to EA.

It seems like they are bridging both trilogy and andromeda in some capacity. Andromeda was 600 years in the future and Liara as an Asari can live up to 1000 years. So it'll most likely just be her of the original companions. Cautious optimism is my way forward, plus it won't be out for 3+ years anways.

They are bringing back some of the guys from ME1 to this new game: Normandy designer, cinematic director, gameplay guy, and art director. Will they stay who knows, but they have an opportunity because there really hasn't been anything that's capture the scifi fans quite the same.

Outer Worlds was fallout in space, seemed a bit hollow just like the fallout games and was shorter than what I had expected. Hated how at the end they just told you want happened vs you experiencing it. Starfield was announced, but nothing has been talked about really since.

@Jack Brickman I don't fault you at all for that. EA is a big bad, but it took them 2+ tries to get Star Wars right. Battlefront 2 resurgence then Jedi Fallen Order.

This makes me intrigued more about the remaster and what creative changes they do to make the story of this upcoming "fit" or do they just leave it as the 3 options that no one really was fond of either.

Obsidian has done more than Outer Worlds. I think Tyranny is the best game they've dropped thus far. Unique concept and doesn't overstay its welcome.

seems like it's having issues running on current gen consoles. Pc and next gen are not as bad after day 1 patch, but that is most open world games like mass effect andromeda and even skyrim when it launched.

Unless you need to play it now, give a month or two and it should run better.

Tyranny, is that DLC for Outer Worlds? I haven't touched any of that.

Scifi has been lacking. That's one of the reason I was excited by cyberpunk, but just not in a rush to get to games recently.

Tyranny was their previous game where you play in a world that has already lost to the big bad and you play as one of his lieutenants.

I enjoyed that one. Obsidian is always good shit. I’m also a slut for the old school CRPG.

Tyranny was awesome. It's rare these days that I actually finish a game, but that one locked me in and I finished it in like two weeks.

I didn't finish Outer Worlds, but that was because my storage drive on my PC died and by the time I got around to replacing it there were other games to play. I almost certainly would have gotten to the end otherwise.
