The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was reading a bit about how Horizon: Forbidden West basically found itself completely overshadowed by Elden Ring and the article noted that the original Horizon launched three days before Breath of the Wild. Jesus.

These fools need to time their releases better.
I honestly took a break from Elden Ring to go back and finish Forbidden West.

Fantastic game, I'll be going back to platinum it once I finish my first ER playthrough. Cannot wait for the sequel already.

By the way...

Moonveil + Meteorite Staff = EZ mode.

Really happy with my decision to play as a spellsword.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to disparage Forbidden West, but holy shit...releasing your first game in a series days before Breath of the Wild, one of the best-reviewed games ever, and then your second a week before Elden Ring, which is trending toward being one of the best reviewed games ever...

What terrible planning, especially this time of year with not much else being released. You couldn't launch a month earlier? Or later?

Elden Ring is truly a remarkable game.

Don't want to give anything way, but I've uncovered a couple hidden areas from following questlines/exploring and gotten to do some incredible battles. There's so much to this game it's insane.

Just awesome, awesome stuff.

As I sit here and type this, I'm watching a massive battle take place just before the bridge to Redmane Castle (and collecting all those free runes).

This world truly feels alive. Absolutely love it.

Haha, seeing enemies fighting eachother reminds me of orcs fighting eachother in LOTR

Me any time enemies are killing each other instead of me:

Looked away for a half second and got obliterated by a perfumer, dropping about 15k runes.

Thank you Elden Ring

I’ll be honest, have been a tad too distracted by Witch Queen to delve deep into Horizon or Elden Ring.

Later this week I intend to.

I did the three invasions that are required to advance one of the game's quests, but the game never tells you that, when you invade and die, you lose all your runes. That was ten thousand runes down the toilet.

Which isn't a lot, but at the time it was annoying. If I had known I'd lose them, I would have spent them first.

Getting in some run before work today.

Power blips in my house for about 20 seconds and I lose a bunch of progress.

Thank you Elden Ring

Just picked up the Moonveil myself, going to give this a go...

Thinking about pairing it with Rennala's Carian Regal scepter, though and using her Moon sorcery as well by duplicating her Remembrance via a Walking Mausoleum.

I'm gonna start putting this together now and seeing what it looks like. Call it the Man on the Moon build lol

Bleed damage in this game is no joke. I made absolute mincemeat out of one of the bosses at Redmane Castle with it. Moonveil's special ability is a ton of fun and pretty easy to use, too.

Something that I've only recently started doing is using the horse more and actually trying mounted combat. Still trying to get the hang of it. Movement on the horse is pretty fluid, it just feels like I attack from odd angles while mounted and I miss almost as much as I make contact.

I probably just need to git gud. :chuckle:

I went back to knock out the half of the Weeping Peninsula that I didn't do yesterday and have been finishing that up today. I basically did the eastern half of the peninsula early in the game before going to Stormveil to take on Margit and Godrick, and have since made it inside Raya Lucaria, but I wanted to level up a few more times organically and there are still parts of WP and Limgrave that I haven't touched yet, so I figured now was as good a time as any.

Ended up finding a chest that teleported me to the motherfucking capital, which led to a talisman that slowly restores HP! Seems useful.
