The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Just got a Gamepass trial, any recommendations? Looking for single player/story games.

Edit: Or honestly, I just need a new game in general, gamepass or not

If you're into games like Darkest Dungeon, Hades, or the various other titles in the genre, Cult of the Lamb is pretty awesome.

I do plan to get it eventually...I've read there are some annoying bugs right now, so kind of waiting a bit for those to be fixed.

In the meantime, I've started downloading Cyberpunk 2077.

I got a PS5 a week ago with the PS Plus Premium and still entirely overwhelmed. I'd been an Xbox boy since the PS2 so there are many games to dive into.

Been playing Marvel's Spider Man and Ghosts of Tshushima for the most part. Now I just need to upgrade my TV and sound setup because my PS5 keeps calling me a poor.

"Oh you are just using TV speakers? We will just give you boring sound. No VRR ability? Fuck off you can't even click this setting."

Oh yeah, at least get yourself a decent soundbar. TV speakers are trash

Better yet, invest in a 5.1 or 7.1 surround system so you've basically got a home theater since massive TVs are dirt cheap these days. I've got a 50+ inch TV and a 7.1 Onkyo surround system. My apartment might as well be a theater.

Well sure, but that's gonna be more pricey than a decent soundbar. Hence the "at least", haha.

Fair enough, but I look at it as a long-term investment. I bought my current speakers when I was still living in Ohio, which was over a decade ago. I've since upgraded the receiver I originally bought, but speakers don't go bad. I just plugged them into the new receiver and they were good to go.

If you're looking for used speakers, Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist are the best places to go for deals. Audiogon is great, but prices are high (and obviously quality as well). AVSForums has a section where people swap/sell stuff as well.

Just got an Onkyo TX-RZ50 to drive my:
  • LCR: Martin Logan Vignette (were there when I moved in)
  • Side surrounds: Paradigm Surrounds 1
  • Rear surrounds: Ascend Acoustics HTM-200SE's (driven by an Aiyima A07 amp)
  • Sub: SVS PB-2000 Pro
  • In-ceiling atmos speakers: Martin Logan Helos 10 (were there when I moved in)
Still waiting on the Epson LS12000 that I pre-ordered to finish everything off. Then I'm done until I decide to replace my screen with an acoustically transparent one, put the center channel behind it, and replace the sides with towers.

I won't be going dual subs. The single pb-2000 pro is already more than I need for the space, and I'm actually worried about eventually rattling a bottle of liquor off the shelves (bar is in the movie theater space).

My best deal was securing the SVS PB-2000 Pro for $300 from some guy out near the Pennsylvania/Ohio border. Item was brand new, just a little cosmetic damage. Not bad for something that's $1100 new.

Welp. Immortal Empires for TW Warhammer III was released today. I think I logged like 400+ hours on TW Warhammer II over the years.

Havent touched WH3. Was waiting for patches and blood to be added. I’m about to go ham. Think I was over 200 hrs on WH2.

About halfway into Cyberpunk's main story now.

This game is decent, but it's nowhere near what it was hyped to be. I'd give it a solid 7.5/10. Not bad but certainly not a "can't miss" game.

So over the last couple of months I've picked up a series x (not so patiently awaiting starfield), a ps5 and a switch... so far all I've got is zelda: botw and miles morales. Been out of the console loop for a while, except for nba2k... wide question, but are there any big time exclusives I should get/be looking for?
