The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Got a weird itch to play a driving simulator.

My most recent system is the Xbox one.

Are there any good driving simulator games? Also anyone have a rig they’d recommend with wheel/manual transmission set up if I decide to pull the trigger?

Did anyone play the Socom series especially Socom 2?

It was one of the best online console multiplayers back in the days. I still remember [LiQ] who were one of the best clans and they knew what they were doing. Then you have 10 yr old kids screaming their lungs who haven’t passed puberty. Then those who talk crap in the lobby back and forth. One of my buddies in Socom is one of the assistant GMs out there in Sports. Some of these players who were really clever in these games have made themselves interesting careers.

Anyways, Socom - really enjoyed Crossroads as it was an equal map. But then sometimes I liked playing Sujo or Sandstorm as Seals. Ruins, Abandoned (s1), Desert Glory were fun ones too.
I would play it again if the same old people get to play it again online.

Old post but yes! Socom was the first online game I ever played. I still haven't played another online shooter that scratches the same itch Socom did for me. The first Gears of War came close though (still love that games multi).

Green up!

Just started BG3. Only about 2 hours in but this has been a lot of fun already

Sea of Stars is an absolute gem. I assume I'm about halfway through it and man is it a treat.

I came in expecting a generic SNES Era RPG. I did not expect Chrono Trigger and Zelda Link to the Past to have a beautiful child together.

I literally installed this the other day and haven't gotten around to starting it.

You sold me. Gonna start it next chance I get.

I have really enjoyed what I've played so far. I'll probably finish it up this week, but will buy it just to support the developers. (Playing it on Gamepass)

This post made me download it on a whim (also because it’s included with my PS Plus subscription).

After all this time, I still trust your judgement.

Probably fire it up this weekend when the kiddo is down for a nap.

THOR!!!

Also, anyone still playing Diablo 4? Or has everyone switched over to BG3 at this point?

Totally understandable if so. D4 is more of my casual, mindless grind game that I run to wind down after a long day after everyone else has gone to bed, whereas BG3 is definitely the more engrossing, in-depth experience (and this is coming from someone that’s never played D&D in their life and only played BG on occasion like 20+ years ago at their friend’s house).

Having a lot of fun with my seasonal character though, a Wolfnado Druid. It just absolutely melts everything and I’m able to push nightmare dungeons with mobs that are 15-20 levels higher than me. Trying to get it to level 100 (and possibly take on Uber Lilith) before season 2 starts in mid-October.

I still play Diablo 4 about an hour per day total for killing World Bosses and Legion Events. Those provide good drops and whispers for good XP. I know grinding Nightmare dungeons is the fastest way to level up but it's so goddamn boring after doing a couple that I just haven't bothered in awhile.

I also want to get my character to level 100 and fight Uber Lilith. I'm playing in the Eternal Realm though, not the seasonal one. No way I would grind 100 on a seasonal basis lol. Getting to 100 and beating Uber Lilith in the Eternal Realm is my endgame. I'm currently level 86.

And BG is not for me

Oh yeah, no huge deal if I don’t get it before the season, I’ll probably play it out on eternal and get it there.

There are certain nightmare dungeons that are better/easier to grind, but yeah… I can only do that for a little bit at a time before I get bored and go do something else. Usually I’ll have some sports event streaming on an alternate screen or something when I’m doing that, or I’ll be carrying a friend who’s significantly underleveled.

I uninstalled Diablo. Not because I dislike it, just new season didnt do much for me and 2023 has just been insane for gaming. Too much other shit to play.

I’ll return to it maybe Season 2 or 3.

I'm still waiting to hear what you guys have thought about Sea of Stars. I've got 20 hours into it and just fall more in love the further along I go.
