Trade ideas: Offseason edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Simmons fir lavine is the only deal I've seen that makes sense. Sexton is small discount lavine at this point but will be cheaper...and simmons is an atrocious fit for us unless we can send Kevin Love in a time machine and get 2012 Love out

Some YouTube hoops-fan channels and some sites (like https://www.basketballnetwork.net/trade-rumors-have-started-porzingis-for-allen/) are floating trade ideas for Porzingis to the Cavs. Basically it is Sexton + Love for Porzingis or Allen + Love for Porzingis. Some of them are including some draft picks. It's all random thoughts, but I won't be surprised if this really happens.

On another note, if the Cavs do really get #1 pick tonight, I think it won't hurt trading down for multiple high picks (may be 5, 8, and 16 from OKC, or whatever they get) if that opportunity arises. This draft class is really impressive and unless we are absolutely certain that Cade is a generational prospect, it will be good to have multiple pieces in this draft.

I will hate to see Sexton/Allen go, but if both of the above happen then the Cavs will be damn interesting to watch.

Can I have the contact info for your dealer, please?

Also, I hope you don't get drug tested at work.

Quit your job. Lots of jobs right now. Don't work for someone that doesn't trust you

I'm not trading Allen by himself, let alone with anyone else, for Porzingis. Also, the math doesn't work on such a deal.

If I'm trading Sexton and Love for Porzingis, I want picks or another asset back.

If the Cavaliers get #1 (or any pick where Cade is there), im taking note of all the picks Presti has and making a list of my demands. They'll never be a FA destination, and if they ever want to contend, they'll need to cash in. A top pick that would be "home" playing there is a good start. Gimme 3 of their Lottery picks and we can talk a trade of Cunningham to OKC.

Think the Pistons might be fairly open to trading 1. More than some might think.

Green or Suggs would be great with the roster they currently have.

If they don't have Cunningham clearly ranked ahead of those guys.....I can see it happening.

Simmons cost his team to get to the Finals, hes often a poor shooter and poor decision maker.Only Love-Simmons make some sense for us(not for Philly) and Sexton should not be included in this trade. Not even Garland.

I saw this trade idea on another page.

Cleveland gets: 5th pick, 8th pick, Gary Harris, Terrence Ross & '25 first round pick via Nuggets

Orlando gets: 3rd pick & Kevin Love

Not only do we get two picks in the top 10, we also get rid of Love.

Even though I fully understand why some don’t want to trade for Simmons…… I actually love the Sexton + Love for Simmons trade idea.

Simmons would fit in with our roster more so than he does in Philly, and Philly desperately needs another scorer. Having a veteran who can hit the 3 in Love would help them as long as he stays healthy (which is always a big IF)

PG - Garland
SG - Jalen Green
SF - Okoro
PF - Simmons
C - Allen

Very solid young core that’s very athletic. People want to bash Simmons because of his offensives woes, which clearly are justified, but people often forget he’s a top 3 defender in the league. As long as Green isn’t a complete liability defensively then we’d have a very stout defensive core in Okoro-Simmons-Allen. Makes it much easier to hide Garland’s defensive woes.

The Pistons need everything so they might be enticed to take our #3 pick, a couple of our second rounders and a package of players (Cedi/Windler)

Taurean Prince+Larry Nance Jr. for Andrew Wiggins, #7 and #14.

Coming off above post that would give the 76ers a lineup of

PG - Seth Curry
SG - Sexton
SF - Tobias
PF - Love
C - Embiid

Or they could start Danny Green at SG and let Sexton be the 6th man scorer off the bench.

I really think it makes sense for both

Taurean Prince+Larry Nance Jr. for Andrew Wiggins, #7 and #14.

Cavs would do that in a heart beat…. But why would Golden State? I can’t see them throwing in both 1sts for that.

$$$. Luxury Tax is a mofo.

Wiggins value may be higher now though...he didn't look useless in the playoff's, and has one less year on his deal.

That said, if the perceived value of LNJ is 2 late first's, and we can offer Prince as a decent sub for Wiggins role, perhaps it's possible.

I just like the idea of having 3 top 15 picks, with the willingness to trade any player on the roster.

Speculation continues on Sextons value,,if the Cavs take Green or Suggs I'd really like
a trade of Sexton/Prince to Detroit for Jerami Grant...probably isn't enough for the Pistons.
Garland/Green/Grant/Nance/Allen. Okoro off the bench....

Ok. So the Cavs draft Green.
76ers want to change up, but can't find takers/value for Simmons.
So Cavs trade Sexton and Love to Sixers for Tobias Harris.
Sexton gives them scoring. Love gives them spacing.
Harris gives us a professional SF.
Lineup: Allen
Nance
Harris
Garland
Green
