Trade ideas: Offseason edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I have seen enough from Altman to believe he worth something.Even his draft choices can cost us now.Sexton,Garland,Okoro.None of these guys are either athletic or good playmakers. Why he never tried to add something to move on draft lottery order?Geussing he will another meaningless pick this year too.
Okoro isn’t athletic?

@LeQuit

Its general opinion around here is that Gilbert wanted to reward the loyalty of Love being the one of the the all stars sticking around. Some the people with that opinion do have their sources, but nothing 100% confirmed.

Like some folks on this forum, some writers fancy Sexton being traded this summer:

McCollum and Porzingis are touted as two best trade targets for the Cavs:

Depending on how the conf semis pan out, these players might be available. Do you think the Cavs should try to trade for any of them?
John Wall
Bradley Beal
Russell Westbrook
Ben Simmons
Joel Embiid
Tobias Harris
Tyler Herro
Kemba Walker
Marvin Bagley
Pascal Siakam
Brandon Clarke

Na I’m good on keeping Sexland and Allen/ okoro if that’s the options. I trust our top 7 pick to be solid enough to great and let sextons RFA solve itself.

None of these options worth imo, especialy first one,you need to be drunk to help Drama Queen .And from the list below I would definitely take either Beal or Siakam!

Ben Simmons & Zingas are the two most likely getting traded. (in fact, it's impossible to imagine Simmons starting next year out as a 76er after yesterday's close out game)

There are some real ugly warts on those two guys' game/injury history/recent play, but I think I'd go Simmons and hope the Cleveland Clinic has enough phycologists on staff to work through Ben's mental block. Damn it, if you could transfer Sexton's scoring ability and mental make-up into Simmons you'd have a sure fire HoF'er on your team.

Even if you could just get Ben to hit FT's, his ability to contribute would sky-rocket. What a frustrating player.

Cleveland receives: Ben Simmons

Philadelphia receives: Darius Garland, Kevin Love & 2022 top 5 protected first

Why?

Cleveland gambles on Simmons. They need a playmaker next to Sexton, & Simmons could be that guy.

Philadelphia gets a solid young point guard in Garland. Kevin Love is added to match salary, he has two years left on his deal. They also get a lightly protected first in 2022.

I rather gamble on Garland's future alone, horrible trade. I realize love is a negative at this point, but so is the 144 mill over 4 years Simmons.

I wouldnt do that trade without the 1st round pick attached. Simmons could be a boat anchor right now.

Would anyone do Sexton/Love for Simmons?
I'm not sure I would even do that at this point.

No. I wouldn't do Love alone for Simmons because we don't need another non-shooter playing heavy minutes for us. We're already the worst team in the league at 3-point shooting. I suspect that if we trade for Simmons this summer (which we won't) fans will be crabbing about his albatross contract two summers from now.

Funny you should ask. I live in a Philly burb and offered that deal to a Sixers fan on Saturday. He yelled "DONE" as soon as I got the words out. "Like Sexton, if we have to take Love we'll take him."

I don't think yesterday's game would make him change his mind.

I personally wouldn't do Love for Simmons straight up and its not a close decision. There's no player I want less on our team than that guy.

Oh helllllllllllll noooooooo!!!! Simmons is not a core piece you build around….especially after his weak performance in recent games

Can I have the contact info for your dealer, please?

Also, I hope you don't get drug tested at work.
