I'm loving our front office so far.
Use free agency to get your coaches the pieces they absolutely need to be able to run their scheme.
Last year it was Hooper and Conklin, and while we all know my thoughts on Hooper as a player, I have no problem with Berry's philosophy. You have to make sure that the coaches have the ability to run their scheme, and if Njoku didn't show up last year, you couldn't leave Stefanski without a reliable starting tight end.
We absolutely required an improvement at safety, as the lack of quality at the position torpedoed our team last year. Johnson was the best safety available on the market after the other top guys got franchise-tagged. We targeted our guy and brought him in at a reasonable price. Bravo.
I suspect that, between free agency and the first two rounds of the draft, we'll address both defensive end and cornerback... with possibly a nice little pickup at defensive tackle.
I expect linebacker to continue to not be prioritized (unless JOK is there at 26.. in which case I may kidnap Berry and turn the pick in myself).
