What is the greatest song of all time?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Africa makes me want to stick molten skewers in my ears.

Biggest shock is that @The Oi hasn't been jizzing ELO all over the thread.

Perhaps a measure of greatness is universal applicability across genres. Always on My Mind was a hit as a rock ballad by Elvis, a country tune by Willie Nelson and, oddly perfected, as a New Wave Electro-Pop Dance track by the Pet Shop Boys.

Willie wrote that song, aside from the two line bridge which a studio musician threw in after he got stuck. Gotta give props to the right guy.

I just realized The Pixies tickets I bought back in March has Weezer opening for them. Yep, I'm seeing Africa performed live in about a week and I didn't even put two and two together until now. Probably going to be the best moment of my life, right?

I could listen to this song on repeat for years....so mellow, melodic, and the vocals are incredible. Alabama Shakes are insanely talented....

Background.....she had a dream about a man going to outer space, something going wrong, and knowing he'd never return to earth.....hence the music video.

Under Pressure - Queen.
Come on Eileen.

Fucking bangers.

Leaving rock songs out of this because it is too hard to get perspective, I'll mention Unchained Melody. Maybe it isn't the greatest song, but it certainly is one of the most beautiful.

By the standard of nipple hardness at junior high dances, the answer is Stairway to Heaven.
