Which player are you most excited about? Which will have the largest impact on winning?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Gotta say I'm excited to see our baby giraffe play. More than any one player though, I'm looking forward to seeing the core group gel and perform as a unit.

I think we're going to see Okoro make a big jump and be our MIP. Not sure if that qualifies as the biggest impact on winning, but I think his impact on the win/loss column will have the largest net increase of our returning players.

All the young guys get better this season. I hope Okoro takes a big jump in season 2 similar to what we saw with Sexton and Garland during their sophomore campaigns.

Long term I definitely think Mobley will be the most impactful but it's going to take a few years of development.

I'm really excited to see what Mobley brings to the table. He's a 7 footer with guard skills. Interested in seeing what Sexton brings to the table in his fourth season as well.

I do expect a lot of people expecting massive improvements from Okoro will be disappointed and a lot of his off-season improvements are being overblown by the org and thus by fans.

If he plays just a bit less timid tho he could be a walking highlight reel.

Another vote for Sexton. Interested to see whether he takes more of a leadership role. At the very least. I'm hoping he finds a way to start silencing his critics.

I feel for Sexton. he's good, not sure how you can expect him to do more than he has. but he's just short and not a real PG type.

I feel like if Garland got more aggressive he could take off.

Very interested to start getting a sense of what we have in Mobley. You can usually tell in someone's rookie year if they have true star potential, there are flashes even if they are raw.

Interested to see if Markaanen will look different liberated from any limits his coaches were imposing in Chicago

Mobley. I want to see the flash of his skill set and enough
adjustments and hustle from him that he doesn't look
overwhelmed. With all his promise, he is very raw. Will
fans turn on him based on the hype vs performance?

Garland needs to up his 3 game and run the ball up
the court like his pants are on fire.

Sextons' continued growth with his court awareness. For
the first time in his Cavs career, he actually will be on the
court with teammates who can compliment him
and help him grow even faster. We will get a much
better read on where his ceiling might be.

I hope Okoro shows a better outside shot and can
handle the ball in a manner that won't make me cringe.

I really like Rubios' game for what it does for
the young guys.

Overall, I hope the Cavs look more like a team with
a coherent system behind them instead of a collection
of mis-matched parts that careen around the court
like ants with their pile kicked over.

And may Kevin Love accept a buyout decent for
both parties.

Let's get back to fun basketball and no drama.

Personally, I think DG will have the largest impact on winning - I wouldn't be surprised if he makes a massive leap and gets named on an all star team. In terms of most excited to see, it would have to be either Mobley, Okoro or Markannen. Mobley and Okoro for obvious reasons, but I just really want to see Markannen prove everyone wrong and have a bounce back season so I don't have to life with the possibility that we made a huge mistake signing him

Sexton and Allen should continue the good work, while Garland and Okoro should take a big step forward. I do not expect Mobley to be a superman - but he should have a feast-and-famine type of season so that we can see the upside.
Putting the best combinations on the floor will be the key. I believe we have enough talent to compete for a play-off spot provided Love and Windler don't become net negatives. Even after giving the young core sufficient minutes, the bench unit can have plenty of minutes to go around. The second unit of Rubio, Windler, Osman, Love and Mobley (I expect him to be phased in, so that he comes from the bench for a good number of games to begin with) should be fun to watch (again, provided Love and Windler are playable).

All said and done, I am excited to watch Lauri and Mobley. Also, "I have a feeling" that Garland will flirt with all-star level this season.
More than any player, I think it will be coaching for this young team that will impact winning.

Mobley was really good passing to his brother. I have to think Allen and Lauri are better targets.

Markannen could be a great outlet and complementary player for this entire team. I get the fit. He has to deliver

This is really a big/important year for Garland. 22 years old, third year in the league, this is the time when people start to show all-star and team leader type capacities if they have them. He needs to find his inner alpha. If he was posting the kind of numbers he was last year while still being sort of passive he could be tremendous with more of a will to dominate the game.

Am I the only one that read this as a poem? I loved this part in particular:

of mis-matched parts that careen around the court
like ants with their pile kicked over.

Beautiful.

Eat that ass:
Most excited to watch Mobley develop. Largest impact on winning will be Garland and Sexton's growth, in that order.
