Z is waiting

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Karma, if we sign Z for $10 mil - then we are only getting one more player. SIgning Z to a reasonable contract can get us a player like Haslem along with a PG.

Z - Haslem/SAR - Godden - Varejo is better than
Z - Gooden - Varejo

at least I think so?

Who's not to say Magliore wont whine like he does now with New Orleans and like he did when they put Nash's name on a charity game over him. This is all laughable. Just because Brian Windhorst or Chad Ford haven't wrote an article on it you believe that there is no interest out there for Z amoungst the good teams with no cap space. You only had to listen to Coach Brown when he stated that had to employ special defenses to try and combat Z. Toy with our allstar all you want. How does that saying goes "play with fire you only get burnt".

We are willing to give Haslem 6 million, and you believe 8 million is fair for Ilgauskas. There is a massive gap between the two.

I think 6 mill for Haslem is a friggin joke! The only guy out there (other than Z) that I'd go more than mid-level on is SAR (and that's only because of that disease that ripped through Asia that they named after him...I still don't see that connection. Maybe the first person to get SARS was wearing his jersey or something).

I'd rather save the cap money than waste 10+ on Z over 6 years. Parma Karma, just look at the mess the Knicks are. Ask their fans how much years 5 & 6 mean.

Haslem isn't a 6MIL player, few power forwards are worth that, but Z at 8MIL is very very fair. Now, Magloire at 6Million really intersts me ....my idea is packaging Gooden and either Luke or Sasha for him. But, I doubt they'd do that. But, Magloire is a target I'd be looking at, or a Brian Skinner type ...somebody that really gives us a presence down low at a price where we can reamin flexible for our shooter, and whoever might come free when rosters shake out later on ...

Right on. F#@k Ilgauskas. If he wont take 6 million let him walk and we'll sign Jerome James and get ourselves some choice lottery picks for the next couple of years. That would be tops.

So, you have inside scoop on who has some special cap room for Z? Sign and trades only work when both teams agree. Atlanta is really his only other option. If he'd rather head there and play with their roster of swing men, it says a lot about where Z's heart is.

Speaking of the fire / burnt thang.....I tried lighting one of my farts on fire once and the back draft burnt my balloon knot and the back of my sack. :eek:mg:

i wonder why "z" is so damn stubborn-- he should go to the cavs and let them know he wants to win, and he will take less to enable the cavs to sign another impact player..

the guy already has banked in 70 mill- how much more does he think he is worth ? it's not like he's getting any younger, you would think a championship is the main thing on his mind right now instead of $$$ and any way he could help in terms of his contract he should...

i mean they did pay for him to sit with a cast on for 3 years..

why doesn't he think he should take less? he should already know this...

While we are at it lets ask Larry Hughes to take a few million off his deal too cause we want to get more players. Snow is a good guy, maybe he too will salary sacrifice.

Do you really think 8 mill for Z is F'ing him? You should go on that other board so that MYOUNG freak can scream at you just for disagreeing with him. He'll straighten you out! :chuckles:

Parma Karma, did a kangaroo kick you in the head today? You are losing it, bud!

Karma I like your posts, but I don't know if you're drinking today, but you aren't making any sense dude....thank God you ain't the GM of this team!

well, I certainly agree with this. Z at 8 is Z giving us a bit of a break because of all of the money we paid him his last contract. Haslem at 6 or 6.5 is overpaying a bit to get a player to leave their home town and to disrupt our competition.

It's still surprising to me that Z has managed to get in this situation - how can it be that almost no teams have cap room this year. It's good for us, but it's strange that a 2 time all star center isn't able to get top dollar. We have some leverage, but I agree we shouldn't abuse that leverage. Z signing elsewhere would be a major blow to our plans for next year.

yeah i agree with the others... "PUT DOWN THE FOSTERS" dude.

the reason i said that about z is because he's 30 years old-- hughes shouldn't owe the cavs anything- he hasn't been here. the cavs haven't done anything for him

"z" has been given a lot of rope here....we locked him up to a major deal, and watched him sit firmly on the bench..

and now he won't take a bit less to play for the only team that stuck by him his whole career ? and it's not like they want to pocket the money, it would be used to improve the squad- and help him eventually get a ring.

i know your're a "z" fan, but this is on the brink of ridiculous. there is not a need to defend everything in his honor. ;)

You may be right. Z should take a big pay cut. But in his mind (in reality really) he is an allstar center who's contract is up. He is looking to be paid accordingly. He is better then Magliore, Dalembert and Curry. His style of game helps out LeBron a hell of a lot. You guys want to treat him like he is a replacable role player. That cannot be further from the truth. You only have to read article's by sensible reporters like Terry Pluto to understand his worth. But again Z's lack of star power works against him. I also love how people say Z sat on his arse for years just collecting his paycheck. Clueless!
