Brendan Haywood's Trade Exception

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just checked Toronto's expected salaries, they have much more room than I thought. However, fact remains no team can create 6 million plus in non-guaranteed deals but the Cavaliers.

Derozan is expected to seek the max when he becomes a free agent next year so the Raptors are looking to unload him before that happens.

Hill had a good year? He played 43 games due to two injuries. He had some flashes of his talent defensively, especially against the Cavaliers. I've always liked his game... but no, pretty dissapointing season for Hill.

he had his best season of his career http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/hillge01.html

Cavs need to talk with Boston, they have too many guards, I know Evan Turner is kinda bad, i'm not too high on bradley awell but what about Evan Turner, Jerebko/Bass and Avery Bradley for Haywood?
I'd try to get Isaiah thomas instead, I know it's a long shot but I would try.

Also, Cavs could try to go for Hill, Copeland and Mahinmi.
they drafted Myles Turner, they have Hibbert so we take a bad contract in Mahinmi and Copeland.

George Hill is a good contract since it expires in 2017 only and they don't have pgs except for CJ Watson and Stuckey and I don't think they are starter material, but Cavs could contact them and perhaps Indiana could go after Bledsoe in a 3 team deal.

There's no way LMA would go there, if they then look to dump Derozan just to clear money.

I have no idea why he'd do that. I have no idea why he'd be interested going there period, unless he has a suicidal personality and is looking to end his existence on this planet.

What does that do for Boston though. They have no reason, as far as I know, to shed salary.

Boston would like to get in on FA this summer and they do have a huge glut of guard, almost all of them added in the past 12 months: Marcus Smart, Isaiah Thomas, Terry Rozier, Avery Bradley, James Young RJ Hunter, Evan Turner, Phil Pressey.

That's 8 guys. Now I suppose Pressey is an easy cut or trade, making under 1 million. And you could play Evan Turner out of position at SF. But that's still 6 guys at PG/SG

So smart money is on them trying to trade some either Bradley or Turner. Do they do it with the intention of creating more cap space for this summer(thus making Haywood appealing) or do they do it with the intention of bring in talent at a different position. That's the question. But at some point, they have to make a move.

Another option is,
If Stuckey resigns, Cavs could go for a 3 team deal.
C.J Watson/Ian mahinmi, Geroge Hill and Chris Copeland for Bledsoe
Cleveland send Haywood and if needed Rights to Sasha Kaun
Cleveland get George Hill, P.J Tucker

Could this work?

From a trade/salaries perspective, this could be made to work.

Doubt Phoenix would be motivated to give up Bledsoe/Tucker for just Mahainmi, Watson, Copeland return. We're not going to throw in picks so would the Pacers?

I think rumors of Bledsoe on the move are exaggerated. If they move him, its for value. When/ig they approached the Knicks about him, it was to move up to 4 in the draft. They do not need to do a salary dump.

There once was a rumor that we were trading Waiters for Evan Turner. Turns out, after this year, they still both stink after changes of scenery. No thanks.

They shouldn't, but thanks.

Celtics shouldn't look to move one or both of Bradley/Turner or the Cavs should aim higher than Bradley/Turner as potential acquisitions with the Haywood contract.

Also, what type of player do you think the Cavs will be able to get for that contract? Bradley or Turner are not ideal if being asked to be a starter or the 6th man. If they are one of your guys in the 8-10 spot off the bench, they're actually pretty good for that role in comparison to what other teams have in those same slots.

I outlined the Spurs' cap situation a couple of days ago with some options for how they might be able to sign LMA:

A San Antonio blog has come to a similar conclusion and offers some additional possibilities:

One thing the bloggers oddly do not consider though is Cory Joseph. If the Spurs don't leave enough cap room to re-sign him and use the room MLE on Ginobili (as I also suggested), they wouldn't be able to re-sign Joseph except on a minimum contract. Joseph isn't a great playmaker, but he was Parker's principal backup for most of the year, logged 1500 minutes and was a good player for them. The badly kept secret is that Parker is not the player he was a couple of years ago, unless he manages a bit of a comeback this year at age 33, and he needs to have a reliable backup.

The fact that Haywood and 24 was not enough to get George HiLL really tempers my expectations even more

The Pacers have no other option at PG and aren't looking to shed salary. Plus Hill is a quality player. They likely aren't going to help the Division winner either.

I wouldn't put too much thought into it.
