Welcome Shawn Marion #31

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Some of you guys are speculating too hard.

He's returning to basketball activities soon:

I guarantee he's back on the court within 1-2 weeks.

^Thank God for...Dave Peters...?...- doing what it is Dave Peters apparently normally does...(pseudo WojBombs?)....

PS- I'm glad we have Binkster's personal guarantee- now I can go back to sleep knowing the final piece to our championship puzzle is on his way back.

With apparently zero complications.

Because this is obviously just routine mystery hip stuff.

Because Dave Peters said so.

Am I wigging out on this...?

Yes.

Yes.
This made zero sense and you suck at life.

Usually links work these situations. I'd rather have a coach quote than a poster "guarantee"- no offense.

I hope you are right.

Anyone else think that a rested & motivated Marion will help the Cavs win a game or two in the playoffs? I really liked what I saw from Marion back in November, but he really started to trail off after Thanksgiving when he had to play too many minutes for too long. I think a fresh & rested Marion will be contributor and I felt like he was really missed in the Hawks game last week. That lineup Blat used to start the 4th quarter would have looked a lot better with Marion in there instead of Delly or James Jones.

Depth has been a fairly glaring issue since Marion has been out. Hopefully he can mostly resolve that problem.

With the way Blatt has played James Jones it seems like he is really committed to having that stretch 4. We will see. I am thinking Marion may be done.

I think as the season comes to an end we will see him more. We will want to reduce the mins of LJ and the rest of the starters. I could see him sliding into the 3/4 spot when James does take a break. I hope he is able to recharge, as it is amazing the drop off from last year till this for him.

couldn't agree more. Marion is the player i would use to defend Mike Scott who went off in the 4th quarter of that game. he also did a nice job on Korver in the 1st or 2nd game we played them, if i remember correctly he only took one or two shots in said game.

Nothing too new, just recap of Blatt's comments yesterday:

Cavaliers notebook: Cavs hopeful Shawn Marion will return on upcoming road trip

By Jason Lloyd

Shawn Marion won’t be able to participate in his homecoming Tuesday (at Mavericks), but he is getting closer to returning to the Cavaliers.

Marion went through practice Monday and coach David Blatt is hopeful he will return from his strained left hip injury at some point on this upcoming four-game road trip through Texas and Florida. But it won’t be Tuesday when the Cavs play at the Dallas Mavericks, where Marion spent the last five years and won a championship.

Marion and the Cavs will practice again on Wednesday prior to facing the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday. Blatt said he isn’t sure when he will return or the role he will hold when he does.

“We’ve got kind of a tricky period coming up,” Blatt said, referring to yet another road trip. “His role is to be determined I guess is the best way to put it in fairness. The rotation has been good and the team is playing well, but we’re anxious to get him back.”

Nah, James Jones is merely a placeholder in the "bigs" rotation. The last few weeks with Marion out have been an opporunity for him to show what he has left in the tank, and really it's what we expected when we signed him- shooter off the bench- not an actual big.

Cavatt said:
I am thinking Marion may be done.

Can't argue with that until he shows us otherwise. Casual fans don't realize how critical this guy is in glueing the team together.

The couple weeks are going to be huge, even the next few practices, really. He may determine that his hip has turned into drywall...who knows?
