How Bout dem Cowboys!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Too bad we never gave the kid a chance...

Watching highlights of Weeden's TD pass, I was wondering if he was actually staring the receiver down for that long or if he was watching his ass first.

Old habits die hard... Hopefully, not for Manziel...

My Cowboys disappointed me last night. They better use all their practice time on picking up all out blitzes, because that is now the blueprint defenses around the league are going to use against them.

Wanna know why our other backs don't spell Murray as much? They are awful in pass protection.

What was funny was that they were interviewing Jerry Jones when the Cowboys were winning, and they asked him what made the team so good this year. He said the offensive line, and how much better they were than anyone gave them credit for.

Then the roof started caving in....

Seriously fun game to watch, especially with the McCoy/Weeden factor.

To his credit, our o-line has been fantastic this year. But when the defense sends 8? We have to have decent max protect packages.

Really fun game though, I knew it would be closer than the media made it out. Redskins always play us tough.

As frustrated as I am, sitting at 6-2 is something I would not have thought possible before this season. I'll take it.

The problem wasn't at all with the Cowboys line, they pretty much manhandled the Redskins in the trenches. The Redskins did an outstanding job, disguising their blitz packages.

Sometimes they'd send everyone up at the line of scrimmage, then back off, then other times they'd come.

I give Romo a lot of blame, for not switching to better audibles. Some quick slants, screens, something that gets rid of the ball with one-on-one coverages.

Then again, he clearly was hurt, and probably shouldn't have came back in. I know it's Brandon Weeden, but he didn't play too bad.

I predicted the Cowboys to lose this game. I don't think they're a bad team, but definitely not the best team in football. Tony Romo stills tries to do too much at times. He's a talented player, I'm not going to seriously put this game on him. He was hurt, and shouldn't have came back in though.

That's fair. One of the reasons I was happy Romo could come back in was because I trusted him more to call those audibles than Weeden. Clearly that didn't work out too well.

Not sure if it was coaching or Romo, but we should not have thrown on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th down. That's the type of playcalling that Cowboys fans cringe at and has been largely missing this season.

They are not the best team in football, but I believe they could put themselves right there by the time the playoffs roll around. Just gotta rebound next week against a tough opponent.

It was a tough call, because obviously I'd rather have Romo at QB than BRANDON Weeden, but he didn't look healthy to me at all.

He is tough, I don't think anyone can say he's not. I don't know if they would have won with Weeden last night, hard to say that, because it's Weeden. He can look really good, then do something really dumb.

I think offensively the Cowboys are pretty good, and defensively they are better. I am not sold on their defense yet though. I thought they were terrible last night, and really got beat badly by the Skins skill players.

.

Nailed it. They are a bend and don't break D, and WAY improved from last year. But if you can get the ball back from the Cowboys offense and get them a bit winded? They can be picked apart. We don't have many elite defensive talents, if any, on the current roster.

I don't know if it was fixed, but the Lions got fucked in the ass tonight. Call me a hater or whatever, it was blatant.

1- DPI called, penalty announced, ball spotted, magically reversed (with no explanation) when Dez Bryant ran into the field with no helmet (which is a 15 yard penalty).
2 - Last Cowboys touchdown drive: lots of flags keeping the drive alive, major offensive holding, including a blatant one in the TD play.
3 - Ref was seen in the Cowboys party bus.

edit: not to mention this cowboys player who was offsides the entire game

The DPI was questionable, but the Lions have nobody to blame but themselves.

Claiming a fix is akin to watching people whine about how the commentators have a bias against your team.

Painfully tired.

I'd be pretty livid if I were a Lions fan. Playoff games don't come often and for something so that whole situation would just piss me off. Not even about thinking there's a fix.. It wouldn't get that far. I'd just be upset with how inept the lack of calls from the refs seemed at the time.

Looking at it after, Dez did heed the directive from the official to get back on the sidelines. Also, the PI may not actually have been, but I'm not a fan of picking up flags... Mainly because you could pickup flags multiple times during games..

absolutely terrible call! and then they picked up the flag...

Not a fan of picking up the flag, there were multiple penalties on both sides of the ball. But that play wasn't why Detroit lost. If the refs had just collaborated before announcing the penalty this wouldn't have been such a big deal. But DPI was a terrible call with Pettigrew hanging all over Hester's face mask.

If you wanna see a bad call, go back to the Browns vs Panthers game when they said Billy Winn "gave himself up". Worst call i've seen in my life. Ref should have lost his job for that, at least been fined.

As far as the egregiousness of the call, there have been worse calls. I think it was more holding than PI, but I would guess there were worse calls this past weekend.

What makes it look so bad was that they actually announced it. Had just no flag been thrown, people would've said "questionable". Had they thrown the flag, then picked up before announcing it, people would've said "bad call".

I have never seen an NFL ref announce a penalty and then just pick it up. That is what made it look so bad. And announcing a penalty before discussing it is an officiating mistake.

Bad calls happen every game. If I'm a Lions fan, I'm blaming this loss on my gutless coach for punting on 4th and 1 when they were driving, and special teams for shanking a 10 yard punt which set up the Cowboys last drive.
