I didn't start something for a change! :9: lol :chuckle:

But back to topic, I feel the Indians still need a setup man in the bullpen and a solid RH bat that can hit in the 3/4 spot in the lineup regardless of position!

I also will have no problem if we went out and made a trade like we did for Mercado for a middle INF this time who can compete with Chang/Mathias for the starting 2nd base job next season.

Josh Bell to fill in the lineup and the DH spot? Yay or nay as a trade target?

I know Mancini is a target (or should be), any other bats you think we should target overall to finish out this roster?

It depends what he costs.

I think you'd be buying high on him. I don't think his current pace is sustainable. From last year, his strikeouts are up, walks are down, and his ISO just absolutely leaped off the page. I think he'll be good--just not 1.000+ OPS good.

That being said, what he is would be the best DH candidate for the current window you have in the organization.

Pirates want SP and pitching in general badly, we have the guys we could give up for him, but I would 100% bet on they would want a big haul since he has team control for awhile and it would be around someone like Plesac with likely Civale, Naylor and Hentges type of deal, which I am not willing to do at the end of the day.

Santana we've got for a while longer. Bauers and Bradley are young and I wouldn't give up on them, so I don't know how appealing a controllable 1B/DH would be. A rental player (Mancini is RH, can play some OF, and is FA at the end of the year) may be a lot more affordable but I don't know if we'll be in a strong buying position. No one player is going to turn this offense into a good offense, but it sure would nice to not have to rely on both Mercado and Kipnis in the top 4.

Mancini still has 3 years of team control- he enters arbitration for the first time this winter. He wouldn't be cheap, but I would imagine quite a bit cheaper than Bell and actually available. I don't think the Pirates have any interest in trading Josh Bell right now

Sorry I could swear I read otherwise. He's definitely out of our range then.

Though at the same time, he could be a perfect fit for us in the end, since he is a RH bat with solid contact and power, and is a so-so fielder, but plays the OF and 1B.

So-so may be generous. But definitely fits the offensive need: RH bat with power and team control

I am currently watching the Mets/Yankees. I would be interested in one of Conforto, Nimmo, or Dom Smith

Alonso being so good and Cano's contract locks those 2 into 1B and 2B, forcing Smith to the OF to get semi-regular ABs and McNeil has to play out there as well (or 3B, which he will probably take over full time next year when Frazier is gone) since Cano can't play anywhere else.

In any case, I would think one of those guys should be available. I'd try to buy low on Nimmo in the offseason.

In a pipedream scenario we get Merrifield but in all honesty the price is too high, but most of here wouldn't be as afraid to pay it. Bell could be another target, but once again price is too high.

Now for Mancini... I am not sure what the price will be since he is under team control until 22, that being said of a lot of the top prospects for the Orioles are at AA, which makes them a team who could contend in 21/22, right before he would be a free agent in his age 31 season. I don't doubt his price will be high, but Baltimore also needs to build for 22 and beyond right now, so a guy like Mancini could net that!

@Derek @AZ_ what type of package do you think it would take to get Mancini?

Baltimore's system is a little harder to read, but I almost feel they would be trying for Nolan Jones, Yu Chang, Civale and Scott type of deal.
