I edited per your request, but it still isn't nice. There’s an edit comments button available to you. Might want to check it out.
Not speaking for anyone but myself, but it now seems to address the point I think you were trying to make.Edited to say I was hoping to see some conversations about the playoffs. Instead I come here to read this BS. Here's an idea. Keep your fucking political/ideological views out of here. Is that better DC?
The past ranks of fall league players have many big league star names among them. So there are personalities to promote, but it definitely would take a different way of marketing your sport. And at the point they play in the fall league, you are probably right - that it would be hard to know exactly which ones are going to be the stars and which ones aren't. But marketing has changed so much in the last 10 years that you would think a big time money machine like MLB would have learned how to market in a more specific way on a smaller scale through social media by now.A few thoughts...
AFL is a development camp full of kids that nobody knows, most of whom nobody will ever know. There is no way to promote it as anything else. Its several steps below Spring Training, and its played during football season.
Starting pitchers aren't going to go out of style, nor decline in value on the open market. What Atlanta is doing in short series baseball won't work over 162 games, in spite of what the Rays have done, being the exception that proves the rule.
Clearly what the Braves are doing isn't a rational for 162 game season @CATS44. But barely reaching the playoffs with a wild card type record, and then playing your hand from there can be. And that model doesn't necessarily mean a great starting rotation. Two years in a row now - Tampa last year, the Braves this year. If you are looking to put your money in more pen arms and less in starters, that is going to devalue the position from a $$$ point of view.A few thoughts...
