Game Thread | 2021-2022 Season | Game #17 | Warriors @ Cavs | Nov. 18, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Curry just terrified them and had them panicking, on both ends knowing if they missed he was coming down and hitting some low percentage shit
Disappointing finish. Needed more substitution patterns at the end of the game. Maybe we wouldn't have won it anyway, but Okoro shouldn't play over 40 minutes. Daigneault and OKC never do stuff like that. I like JBB as a defensive coach, and his guys play with lots of heart, but he's terrible at substitution patterns/managing minutes, and he has bad offensive schemes.

You have a gift for understatement, but I agree. JBB needs to show more imagination.Such limited options though, Davis was gassed, the other 4 starters played heavy mins and off the bench there was nothing outside of Love with Windler depressingly anonymous.

No team can deal with losing this many key pieces at the same time.

Cavs next game Monday. Hopefully Lauri and Allen is back. Get healthy!

Cavs fought. No real complaints. Just wish JBB went to Davis/Love instead of Wade/Love.
That's what I wanted. Ed Davis is like having a budget Tristan Thompson without some of the weird shit like shooting 3s for no reason. 13 rebounds at the half. he should be elevated in substitutions later in the season.

Let’s take a moment for the guy who took the Cavs +9.5, then they announced Cedi out, he marked it down as a loser, and was dancing when he took a 22.5 lead into fourth, only to be outscored by 35-8. I’ve been that dude before

It's one of those situations of too little too late. You can get away with playing Windler or Valentine or hell, even Pangos when it's the 3rd quarter or early 4th but if you are plugging those guys late in the fourth then you might as well throw the game. Would take tired ass/shitty Okoro over Valentine or a gun shy Windler.

JBB doesn't really think ahead like at all. The lack of talent makes it hard to play shitty guys at certain points of the game, but he has to try if if the goal is to play 48 minutes and win.

It was literally impossible to play worse than Okoro did for 6 mins straight. Worst I’ve ever seen curry defended. He usually has to make a couple tough shots to do the “wow he’s amazing” explosion beat down thing.

He probably singlehanded gave up 25 of GS 4th quarter points

Actually, no it’s not. His natural tendency is to continue to move the ball and pass to the open man…but that’s kind of a problem when all of our “open” players suck. He needs to be more selfish
Then the fourth quarter was oddly against his tendency because he was plenty selfish and the ball wasn’t moving except for up and down between his hand and the floor.

Lack of talent can be blamed for specific games and overall trends

It's now 6 games in a row w/o hitting 100.

At some point, the finger just has to be pointed towards the coaching staff for not being able to scheme 100 points once out of 6 games.

He's just an awful offensive coach and it is screaming Mike Brown part 3 right now.

JBB doesn't seem to realize when the squad gets gassed, they can't shoot for shit... I don't understand why he can't draw simple plays up. But also playing Okoro even if he was truly a lockdown defender, for the entire half is just a joke IMO. If he can't see that Okoro was doing just as bad as anyone else out there on defense, he's blind to reality.

All that being said, fuck the zebras, fuck Draymond, fuck Steph and fuck the Warriors.
I hope I'm not giving the impression that I'm defending playing Okoro 20 straight minutes or whatever it was. I'm just saying in regards to Curry, I don't believe it would have made an ounce of difference.

We had fresh legs on the bench. Use them if everyone is so tired they can’t honestly compete. If they’re too shitty to play any minutes in the NBA then cut every one of them. I dunno. Fuck that tired legs shit. You were up 14 in the 4th. Not too tired to play 12 more minutes. Just played like ass
On the second night of a back to back? Yes they played poorly in the 4th; tired legs will kill your shooting and against fresh reserves there’s no chance.

Spare me the bullshit, even your #1 coach of choice gets outclassed in the 4th qtr.

Credit to JBB for having his guys play hard vs the best team in the league.
Nah disagree with that. It's great this team plays hard, but he had Okoro out there for 43 minutes tonight just to get burned by Steph like 15 possessions in a row and he did nothing about it. And then on the other end, it doesn't even need to be explained just how bad he is by shrinking the floor for the defense and missing the shots he does take. Meanwhile, Ed Davis plays an awesome game and JBB decides to just keep him on the bench in the 4th when the Warriors are making their run. Meanwhile, there's absolutely no offensive system for this team as everyone just sits around and watches DG and Rubio dribble the air out of the ball en route to turnover after turnover. JBB may be a nice guy and a good motivator for effort, but he's not a good basketball coach. You can't be completely clueless with rotations and the Xs and Os of the game and be a good coach.

Lived in Mountain View Apartments about 22 at the end of West End Avenue. Moved to NEO 50 years ago. Lived in Philly last nine years. Have a friend in Branchburg so I’m up that way a lot.
We’ve lived in some of the same places. I was born (1986) and raised in Plainfield but I lived in Philly for 6 years (2004-2010…went to Drexel, worked there after until the great recession ruined that). My favorite city in the world.

I’d go bankrupt and lose my house and family before I ever made a dime off of the warriors playing agains the Cavs. Blood money.
I almost bet Warrior by exactly 9 points but couldn’t pull the trigger lol

If the team is fully healthy, I doubt you see Okoro out there for 43 minutes. We're missing like 6 guys.

In a guard driven league, we are playing a guy who, when he scores 8 points, most of us look and go…..
