This class is so underwhelming. Both in terms of top-end talent and depth. Jaden Ivey is the only guy I'd bet on becoming a star. He's well-rounded with top-tier athleticism and he has that it factor in terms of aggressiveness, excitement, and will to win. Banchero imo is a one-dimensional tweener/isolation jump shooter a la Jabari Parker, plus he has serious sweating/hydration issues. Holmgren might be skilled for a big but he doesn't have the frame to play against NBA-quality bigs on either end or the functional-level skills to operate consistently from the perimeter in the league. Hardy is a grossly overrated and frankly boring prospect, and I can't believe he's ranked so high. Baldwin Jr has red flags in terms of character and effort on the court, but he's also athletically limited without being that skilled either. Jalen Duren is a foul-prone, low IQ, poor effort, raw big who shouldn't even be a lottery pick. I like Jabari Smith, as he would probably rank 2nd on my board, but even he is likely more of a great glue guy than a star. Like Keegan Murray's game, but his age caps his upside, so I'd probably put him 3rd because I think high-level role players (look at Mikal Bridges) are still very valuable.
Even around our range, not liking Max Christie at all. Caleb Houston has been super disappointing. As has Peyton Watson. AJ Griffin isn't even getting rotation minutes on Duke and might stay another year. I might honestly be inclined to just roll with Nikola Jovic or Julian Champaignie, the latter of whom isn't the most exciting prospect out there but could actually be a great fit for us given his shooting ability and decent size on the wing.
