2022 NBA Draft Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
EJ Liddell is a guy that I would love to see us target with our 2nd rounders, even if it means packaging both of them to move into the 20's to get him. Great defender who is short for his position but has really long arms (had a great block on Branchero tonight) and good defensive instincts and timing. His offensive game has continued to evolve and I think he can eventually hit NBA three pointers and have some SF/PF versatility. Massive future/leader guy as well going all the way to HS in a very competitive Chicago basketball circuit
I thought he was 6'7?

Tacko and Nembhard tearing it up on the Charge..

So Isaiah Mobley has started doing this since the second half of last season, but he's trying to expand his game to do more of the things he'll need to do to make it as a backup big in this league. Smart player, good on the boards, doesn't try to do too much, and he's actively stretching his range out to 3. If we go get him a large part is obviously because of his connection to Evan, but I wouldn't feel too bad playing him off the bench if we had an injury to one of our starters. We could do (and are doing right now) way worse with our end of the bench bigs.

With as good as Evan has been, and Isaiah putting up these numbers, we might need to get him with a late 1st round pick...my thought of getting him as a UDFA is gonna be dead wrong, the way things are going.

I still think we can get him with one of our 2nd round picks, if we want to.

I'm not quite sure how advanced stats view him since he doesn't seem to have many stocks despite being such a good athlete, but he seems to be exactly what we need as a play finisher both from deep and at the rim.

I'd love to be able to snag Mathurin, but he's gonna be a lottery pick and he'll be gone well before we pick in the late teens or early twenties.

Probably, but who knows. Memphis was able to move up from 18 to 10 last year by taking on additional salary, and we have 2 pretty high 2nd rounders to play with as well. Way too early to cross off anyone just yet.

Houston & San Antonio have been winning lately, so who knows what happens with those 2nd rounders, if we even keep them.

Can't believe we wouldn't even be able to pick Mathurin. Oh how the mighty draft gods have fallen.

Who is looking good Nathan? You nailed Haliburton and Sengun!

I still don’t see it with Sengun………I’m not sure he would even get off our bench as this team stands right now….He only getting around 15 minutes a game with a bad Rocket team……

This is probably something we are going to have to consider over the next few years to move up a bit and grab some prospects that slide a bit.

Was just going to mention this. If the Cavs have a specific (non-elite / top-5) prospect that they really love, they have plenty of assets to move up from the late teens / early 20s to late lottery. We have two great 2nds this year, all of our future firsts, and the potential ability to move Love's then-to-be expiring contract for some long-term money to potentially make a move.

Mathurin looks super intriguing. I did not see this explosive second year coming from him. I'm also intrigued by Jovic potentially in our range, but I've only seen a few youtube clips of him so far.
