the cost of SP's at the ML level has risen so high that trading for one has become or is approaching being cost prohibitive.. An SP that can be ready by the ASB would be the most enticing target for a limite resource team like the Guardians..They're able to move Plesac due to the current SP depth they already have Coach. They aren't looking to replace Plesac, they're looking to upgrade..
You've been on this BP kick for quite some time and I still don't think they make a trade like this for one. Again, the only hole to fill in the BP is the one left by Shaw and that won't be difficult to do after his performance. Besides, it seems like every year they find a De La Santos laying around and snatch him up. The BP and rotation aren't issues until they are if you get what I'm saying. Maybe they can turn Amed into a good backend BP arm. Would you be ok with that?
We need another C. I think it would be nice to have a SS that is better than average. It would be nice to consolidate some of our BOR SP for an upgrade. I don't care if it's Lopez, Marquez or Lauer. All 3 in my eyes would at the very least fall in behind TMac.
Find those guys and when the club who owns them, discover their needs.. and a deal can be made..
One thing closely approaches absolute... buying a FA SP is looney toons.. 7 years and longer.. $ 20 MM and higher.. for that?..
