May just went to the IL for 4-6 weeks. Nows the time to get a deal done for Bieber.

SP G. Stone
SP Frasso
LF/1B/Util M. Busch (T. Freeman with power)
C Y. Fernandez

That's 2 mid top 100 prospects (plug and play) ready for MLB (Stone/Busch), a performing mid rd college SP (Frasso, 24yo in AA) and a high end lotto ticket in C Fernandez (20yo in A+, strong track record)

If that’s the return for Bieber, can we throw in Zunino, Rosario, Plesac, Karinchak, Bell, Brennan, Gallagher and Tito?

Don't they have a RHH we could target? The only LHH they have that I'm interested in is Outman, but they ain't comin' off of him. Not even for Bieber.

Active roster trades are tough to pull off in mid May..

Time for another WTF kind of trade have you come up with 'Coach...

Essentially it goes like this...

Cleveland gets
1B/3B Turner
2B Meidroth
LHP Drohan
Cash/PTBNL

Boston gets
SS Rosario
MIF Tena

Aka why I suggested it...

One, Rosario, out, two, creates a roster spot, three, creates a starting SS spot for Arias/Freeman, four, we get a veteran on this roster with actual playoff experience and good clubhouse leadership in a reserve role.

I feel like at the end of the day, this creates a better roster...

Lol still trying to trade Tena on BTV is like trying to trade off a struggling currency off an old exchange rate.

I'd bet you good money that there isn't a GM in the league who actually looks at Jose Tena and says "this is a guy who will make the deal worthwhile for me".

I also have no clue how trade values are calculated but some of it might have to do with @sportscoach spamming trades with him.

Regardless of the values at BTV, what I cannot see this team doing at the deadline is dealing for a short term asset. I don't believe for one second that Chernoff has any interest whatsoever in Turner, nor should he. I'm not saying they will or won't deal for any veterans, but I'd guess that anyone they deal for will be part of the actual contention window.

I can see the SP depth becoming ridiculous, and I'm fine with that. Better to have too much than not enough. They could deal all of Bieber, Quantrill, Civale and Plesac and add to that depth. I'm sure there would be a couple of bumps in the road, but by 2025 they'll probably have a better rotation than anything any of us have ever seen in Cleveland. Understanding that dealing 3 of your SP(4 if you include Plesac) isn't likely so will they deal from the SP prospect depth? Would a guy like Allen be available in a package for a big RHH OFer? I expect Bieber to be dealt at the deadline. I expect 2 of Quantrill, Civale and Plesac to be gone by the start of 2024. Who and what they target is hard to say. Certainly a RH bopper has to be high on the list and possibly 2 of them. Gonna be interesting to see what they actually do or don't do.

Any chance we could get DeLuca included in this deal and what do you think of him Tondo. I like the speed and bat for sure.

We talk about the SP depth, but I think that a few BP arms are worth mentioning as well. Michael Kelly and Touki are looking fantastic in Columbus. If Karinchak can get his shit together and drum up some interest before the deadline then he could be on the move. I'd guess any of Sandlin, Morgan or Curry could be sent down or traded and replaced with Kelly, Toussaint and Herrin.

Herrin is already up and I'll take the chance on him. If he could reach his potential along side Hentges then we have 2 nasty-ass LHRP. If he doesn't workout then there will be enough assets to deal for a competent LHRP by 2025.

When you step back and look at this roster/system it doesn't seem unrealistic that some major trades could happen and this team could really have a set roster for years to come.

For crying out loud, the Dodgers just placed Urias on the 15 day IL. Just get a deal done already FFS!

One thing I think that both @CDAV45 @CATS44 and @Out of the Rafters at the Q will agree on, is that Cleveland needs to clean out their pipes better. We lost 2 relievers to the Rule 5 draft, and perhaps more critically given what we've been seeing so far, we lost the chance to sign Luke Maile for about $2 MM give or take.

At some point we have to be satisfied with garage sale prices on both prospects AND guys like Rosario just to clear out the 40 man.

Whether you are thinking short term or long term or medium term or value contact or power, it feels like unless we feel like we're ripping off a team the FO just sits on their hands and doesn't make moves.

Sure, Benson, Vargas, and Miller were a start but we could've went a lot further...

Even the Jones trade was 40-man neutral.
