2019-20 Cavaliers Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think TT and Rich Paul's leverage went down alot recently. If Garland looked like a sure fire star, Rich Paul would have leverage that to inflate TT's contract in years and/or salary. Garland is the only other Klutch client on the roster.

TT until recently was a big part of helping Sexton get open. Sexton has improved and has shown to be able to score without TT on the floor. TT doesn't seem to have chemistry with any of the other young guys so he isn't really important to their development.

Lastly, I think the market for Love isn't there so he will be on the team going forward and they don't necessarily need TT as that vet leader for the young guys if Love is around.

All I have to say,if Tristan is traded today Henson and Dellvadova need to step up as leaders. I don't trust Love at all. The way he's been throwing coaches and players under the bus, throwing temper tantrums on the court and not putting any effort.

If,this organization is depending on Love to be the leader of this team then this team is in trouble.

I think Tristan was willing to sign an extension with the Cavs *if he was overpaid.* Him and his camp have likely released that the Cavs will not overpay him and now want him traded in hopes he can resign with whatever team that is. I do not believe free agency will be very kind to Tristan, especially with how few teams will have cap space. His offensive game has really come back down to earth after a strong start to the season.

Nance is another guy who could step up if TT goes. He's only been in the league for 5 years but has been around the NBA his whole life. Not to mention he's been on both terrible rebuilding teams (Lakers) and made a finals run his first year in Cleveland. Also played with both Kobe and Bron something not many can say. He's a guy who should try to step up and lead the younger kids.

I mean I'm not even sure why anyone though Houston was a realistic option. They don't have anymore picks to trade and have zero youthful assets. They blew their load on Westbrook and Covington so they could play 6-5 PJ Tucker at Center.

I hope we don’t buy TT out. He wanted that fat contract and held out over it then make him play it out.

The tweet said a buyout is not an option. So hes either getting dealt or finishing the season with us.

Yes I know I’m glad we’re not buying him out. And I hope we don’t change our mind in a few weeks. Fuck ever working with rich Paul again.

I don't think he will want a buyout. Will lose his bird years. My guess is if he's not dealt he signs a fat 1 year deal this off-season and we try again next deadline when he would have more value as an expiring and retain his bird rights.

It looks like the Cavs wont be trading this year...We'll see though.

I think the reality is Love is too expensive to trade at this moment...nobody wants that contract at his age and injury history. TT has value because he is an expiring contract but there doesn't seem to be a suitable return...at least thats the way it appears right now with 2 hours to go

The KLove situation is funny to me. Lots of people saying he will have more value in the off-season with only 3 years left on his deal. Wouldn't it make more sense to try to get 4 playoff runs out of him instead of 3.

Quit using logic. The world doesn't run on that sort of gassy nonsense. Dollars and cents is what makes sense! Seriously though, if you are right there and he's a guy who makes all the difference, you should pull that trigger. Can he still be that guy? On the right team...sure.

I dunno it depends on how tradeable he is later. I do think teams are scared by the # of years. 4 seems like a lot, 3 is more than you like, and 2 is doable depending on his production and if he falls off a cliff.

The fact that he has the same number as Horford makes me feel differently about the whole thing.

The biggets problem is that we can't make Love look good on this team. It is just too flawed. I think if Philly swapped Horford and Love they would be psyched, but they don't know it. No one does. He needs an actual defensive presence next to him and a reason to play hard.

KLove is 4 years younger then Horford. Not even comparable situations. KLove closer to Blake a few years ago. Sadly no one dumb like the Pistons.
