2019 Browns Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What an awful comparison. Do better.

There is no comparison.

It’s the only venue in the world where fans feel entitled to say and do things that would be acceptable at no other venue.

Except maybe adult softball leagues.

On a side note... I think it fits here...

I cant stand the media, not just in Cleveland but nationally as well. It takes everything inside of me to not respond to media articles, knowing that the clicks are what they want.

If I see one more "they crowned themselves champions" articles I'm going to lose it lol. The worst part of this loss is people actually sitting there saying Cleveland deserves this for being so cocky. Really? Reaaaally?

Ugh

The Browns playoff chances per FiveThirtyEight have fallen from 46% to 20% with that loss on Sunday. Of course, their model takes record and point diff, etc into account, so the Kitchen Fire on Sunday may have made their model overreact, but still.

Monday can't get here fast enough. These guys need to come out like the season is on the line, which it may be. I'm starting Baker again in fantasy even after the egg he laid, because I believe he is the one. Please be the one Baker. I'm pushing all in.

Huge game for Freddie too. If we lose, his seat is already gonna be hot.
Don’t worry too much about that. 538’s model weighs new information more heavily. Any ELO-driven prediction is pretty worthless right now.

I’ll help with the analogy, without providing an opinion:

Imagine if a sales guy from a competitor’s company jumped onto the buffet table during the office party while everybody was drunk.

What do you expect when you jump into a hostile crowd of drunk fans? Seems like everyone loves to play the victim now. You got beer poured on you while getting paid millions of dollars to play a football game, what a tragedy.

Opposing players take note. When the lake-effect wind chill kicks in, it'll be hot chocolate that gets dumped on you...

It's the same narratives, over and over and over.

Player X does this, therefore he must be (insert cliche here).

Again referencing how much money they make.

This is sort of making my point.

It's not acceptable just because they make money to play football and entertain you.

Just a simple lesson about decency and respect. Seems like everyone thinks they can toss basic human decency aside so long as they're just being a fan.

Nobody wants you to cry tears.

Just requesting basic human decency as you would during basically any other aspect of human life.

Like, imagine some dude coming to solicit at your office, and then people just start pouring beers on him when he steps in the lobby.

It’s wild how fans think they can treat athletes.
That, quite frankly, is an utterly terrible comparison.

Apparently he's in the wrong per the rules.

Hope his ass gets fined now. (well and we can ban the beer dumper for good measure if we're being fair)

So, it is against the rules, then?

Good.

In a perfect world, the opposing player doesn't get beer poured all over him while jumping into the 1st row of the Dawg Pound en route to his team embarrassing the Browns in their most hyped game since 1999. In a perfect world, said player instead chooses to taunt those fans while staying in the field of play.

But we don't live in a perfect world.

Better to throw beer than bottles, amirite?

So why even attempt to make a shitty comparisons then? Honestly, what rights do the players have in jumping in the stands? What was the purpose of it?
