2020 Trade Deadline Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
After four years we're still waiting for Njoku to tap into this potential that apparently still exists, eh?

Guy might be a freak athlete. Doesn't mean he's a good football player. You're supposed to catch with your fucking hands. Not your body.

I'd move him for a 4th if we can.

Harrison Bryant is a rookie. Hooper has missed 2 games. OBJ is done for the year. Njoku is the only mismatch we have in the passing game. When we trade him for a mid round pick and suddenly can't generate anything in the passing game what are people going to move onto next to complain about?

Bryant has looked more sure handed in 8 games than Njoku has in 4 years.

Bryant has had a drop or fumble in 3 straight games

We can cherry pick sample sized stats all we want. I think Bryant has been much more consistent in his short tenure here than Njoku has. I will take consistency over a few highlight worthy TD catches every 10 games.

I really don't get the Njoku boner on this forum. Aside from 2018, he's been an injured mess that still apparently doesn't understand blocking schemes. But I guess we all will wait another four years for this mismatch monster potential to come to light.

Njoku has missed 3 games this year and only has 7 less catches and 50 less yards on the season than Bryant. What consistency are you even talking about?

There’s no trades to be made though

What about this trade is smart? Corner is the one defensive position we are semi deep at, and he is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. Is he alone going to make our defense a top 10 defense??

I ask, because if the answer is no, which it is, why give up draft picks if we aren't going to be contenders for a 8 game rental?

Attempting to die on the Njoku hill now?

What????

What hill??

I'm trying to find the evidence that says Harrison Bryant is a clear upgrade over Njoku. Trade Njoku for a mid round pick and now we're down another pass catcher. Harrison Bryant is a rookie who's barley got his feet wet. Maybe we shouldn't be so quick to get rid of a guy who we probably are going to rely on more now that OBJ is done for the season.

What do you mean by mortgage the future? Just because people want a trade doesn't mean it has to be an overpay. It's not like we have to trade a 1st round pick no matter who we trade for.

Its an 8 game rental, mortgage the future is extreme, but even a 5th round pick is not worth it as he isn't part of our future as we cant afford King and Ward and Wards going to be a free agent soon. SO while I would like to have him, it is pointless to pay anything for an 8 game rental unless you think the 1 player turns us into contenders, and King is not Mahommes.

Depends on what we get. I actually like Njoku, but he is a free agent at the end of the year and I done see him coming back. If we can get a 4th rounder for him somehow, you have to do it. Especially with Hooper coming back

Browns have two 5th round picks in 2021

Desmond King isn't a player you give up a day two pick for. He's going to want to be paid like an all-pro. If he played like one he would have played more than 60% of the Chargers' defensive snaps this season.
