2021 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Interesting. Only surprised by the timing..

Shouldn't be.

Typical timing. Usually move up guys around the halfway point of the season/post minor league All-Star breaks so guys can be recognized. This year is a bit different with no All-Star breaks, but also would have most likely happened at the halfway point had he been healthy all year.

Good chance if he finishes strong in LC he is in Akron to start 2022.

You think he could be taken in the Rule 5 of not protected? It's a low probability, but we never know sometimes with teams...

Doubt it.

As of now also doubt they leave it to chance though too.

Did a real good job of prepping for the 40 man crunch in comparison to most teams facing the same dilemma at the deadline, which was their mindset for pretty much the entire season as mentioned in here for months...they will protect the guys they need to protect.

Rule 5 usually sees us lose somebody we didn’t expect to lose and won’t lose any sleep over, but the Ghost of Roberto Clemente still haunts every draft.

I have never worried about the Rule Five, because it always involves fringe talent on our part. Who cares in the end?

Santander is probably the one that fans complain about the most...and in five years he has been barely above replacement level, a combined 1.8 fWAR.

But in spite of optimism that the org has managed the situation well leading up to this coming off season, we are gonna be in real danger of losing major talent...

Unless the FO makes a huge move before the Rule Five.

Name me a corner outfielder on the Tribe 40-man you would take over Santander. I’ll wait.

Harold's really the only corner OF on the team the rest are CF's playing corner cause that's all they got

What you say here CATS is true, but the difference between "barely above replacement level" and what we have is significant wouldn't you say?
