2021 NBA Draft Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Has anyone mentioned the Ohio State sophomore EJ Liddell? After functioning primarily as a defensive specialist last season, his offensive game has come alive this year. He's a big reason why the Buckeyes have quietly climbed up to #5 in the nation in kenpom offensive efficiency, and he's off to a good start again today.

His evolution could be like J’sean Tate’s although maybe happen a little quicker. Basically a skilled power forward in HS but only 6’5-6’6”

His ball handling and three point shot is beginning to improve so it is possible he could become an NBA SF. He’s a total winner though who led his Chicago HS teams to multiple state championships

Added him to my draft rater, which has him a pretty solid roleplayer PF at -0.1 Offense, +0.8 Defense. Would be a good value in the second round.

Oh for sure, I would absolutely draft a guy like him in the second round. If the team that takes him there is patient, he will adjust in time and find ways to be a positive impact player.

Yup. A big key for him at the moment is his free throw rate, which ranks 3rd among all bigs behind only Garza and Jackson-Davis. As I type that, he sinks another pair.

Wait, I just realized that Justin's twin brother Julian Champagnie is also a serious prospect. He's leading the Big East in scoring and ranks top-10 in rebounds, steals, and blocks. Not quite the statistical freak Justin is, but a very very good player nonetheless.

Is their Pop named Corky?

@Lee

For better or worse, within the next 5-10 days we will be massively ramping up conversations on Jalen Suggs, Cade Cunningham, Evan Mobley, Jalen Johnson, Johnathan Kuminga, and Scottie Barnes.

The team was competitive and showed lots of growth!

Fading a little, and maybe getting lucky in the Lotto is certainly not the worst thing.

Another very nice game for Shannon in a hard-fought win against #9 OU. Game-high 15 points, including a big 3 and some free throws down the stretch.

Imma need the Cavaliers to get someone *over* 6'6" this year (unless its Jalen Suggs or Jalen Green).

The cavs have guards locked with sexland and okoro and a center in Allen. Just need two 6'8ish wing player that can defend and hit 3's.

I hope they get to play with all the Holidays one day

Another guy to keep an eye on is the lanky, athletic wing Bennedict Mathurin. He's among the younger freshmen in the draft, not turning 19 until June, but he's unexpectedly emerged as a key weapon for Arizona, averaging 12 points and 5 boards per game with red-hot .52/.44/.85 shooting splits. It'll be interesting to see what he can do down the stretch as his role continues to expand.

EDIT: Since someone brought up Kispert earlier, it occurs to me that Mathurin is the exact kind of player I'd suggest as an alternative.

Greg Brown just got his 2nd assist of the season. Incredibly, he went over 250 minutes without recording an assist.
