2021 RCF Mock Draft: Discussion, Trades and Miscellany

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I also notice that you start out by claiming you want to talk about the topic, and not be personal, but you abandon that four words later.

I absolutely could not have removed my own opinions from the Lance selection more than I did. Following the local coverage of the Niners, the media is preparing the fanbase for somebody besides Fields.

I produced evidence of what the prospects did in Pro Days, the extent to which the Niners front office paid attention, and then a quote from Greg Cosell.

I just don't notice the franchise following Fields at all during the draft process, and it's likely because his faults in reading the field are the same as Jimmy G's issues.

Just want to make sure, my comment was to @raiders91sc who I responded to.

I really didn't notice anyone personally attacking anyone else in this forum until that part of his post.

I like your Lance analysis, and I think I'm in-line with you. But hey, I wouldn't be surprised if the pick was Fields and everything you noted as the 49ers lack of interest in him was really just deflection off their true target.

It's wacky season in the NFL.

The value in trading down from 13 to 16 was too good to pass up. My price normally would have been a future second, but I backed that down to a future third, and used this year's fifth plus Josh Jones to make up the difference.

I still really, really like Josh Jones. He'll be playing somewhere along our revamped offensive line this year.

He really struggled moving over to the right side of an offensive line, hence his lack of snaps. It sounds like Jones will be competing to start at LT, RT, and guard for the Cardinals, and the worst-case scenario is he will be their swing linemen in case of injury.

I saw. Well, it just so happens that the Chargers have a nice Trey Pipkins-sized hole at left tackle. They could also use improved guard play, or a swing tackle to back up the aging Bulaga.

For a team that wants to invest in the offensive line, scooping up a guy I still have a high second round grade on as a throw-in was a nice sweetener on top of a third and a fifth to move back 3 spots.

I think @DJTJ was pretty Horny for that 13th pick ;)

Agreed, I think it would be a great move for the already-improved Chargers o-line.

And, as expected... I couldn’t be happier to get target 1. Utterly shocked to be in a position to get him.

Not bullish on Jones, even though I really liked him last year. I’m not confident in his ability to play inside, and the flip from left to right did not go well.

All fair, and with your evaluation of Horn, it's worth it.

If I were taking Horn at 13, I wouldn't have traded down. Getting a premium corner on a rookie contract is just too valuable.

And to add, as someone who roots for the Cardinals (but not in week 17), I will be pissed if Josh Jones is playing an ounce of LT if Humpries is healthy. Legit furious.

The Cardinals, very similar to the Browns, are in a unique position where they can take a few spots, and get really valuable position groups out of it.

They are also very similar in how they value athletes to the Browns, so IRL, if Horn is there, unless Slater is on the board, I can’t imagine them passing. Would be totally shocked.

The Washington Football Team is taking offers for the 19th overall pick. Looking for draft picks and/or offensive players.

Surprised Mac Jones made it to fifteen. Lots of QB hungry teams out there.

Going to throw this out there....

Christian Kirk is very available.
