It appears that Zimmer has lost his recently acquired re-luster..

He has moments and plays some solid D, but if he isn't penciled into having to fight for the 4th OFer spot for 2022... Forgetaboutit.

Could be right Wham. But divisional foes figure out pitchers first. So the Royals kind of pounding on him wouldn't be a surprise. But it is kind of foreboding for the future results.

Maybe he turns out to be your "hall of fame" pitcher. Maybe not my MOR guy. Probably somewhere in between. The 5 game stretch, while most likely true, sounds like an ESPN stat => 1st pitcher to .... when 6 black cats on full moon evenings, when the tigers escaped from the circus to accomplish ...

Great for segment headlines, not much for reality over the long run

In 2015 we had a 24 yr old SP in the fourth season he had appeared on MLB.

In May he had a 4.1 IP start in which he gave up 6 ER on 7 H and 3 BB.

In June another start...3.2 IP...6 ER..4 H...5 BB.

Two starts later...3 IP...7 ER...9 H..4 BB

In August...3.1 IP...6 ER...7 H...2 BB

The next start...1.2 IP...5 ER...6 H...1 BB

In September...1.1 IP...5 ER...6 H..1 BB

Two starts later...3 IP...6 ER...7 H...3 BB

Thats seven starts like TMacs last one.

I wonder what jup thought of that pitcher, and what it indicated for the future.

Ernie has the seniority.. that is for certain.. Rocchio and Freeman may have better talent for the spot.. but that won't be for 2022.. or at least at the outset.. Yu Chang is also in the discussion.. both him and Ernie..
