Games of great import, week 6:
TCU @ Kansas, noon, FS1: Battle of the undefeateds, just like everyone predicted. TCU drubbed Oklahoma last week, and beat a solid SMU team. Kansas has beaten WVU, Duke and Iowa St. I would guess that Baylor and Okie State are destined for a rematch in the B12 Championship game, but the winner of this game is very much in the discussion.
Tennessee @ LSU, noon, ESPN: Tennessee leads the nation in yards per game and is 4th in yards per play. QB Hendon Hooker is tied for the lead in yards per attempt. Now, the schedule has been 2 MAC teams, a Pitt team that just lost to Georgia Tech and Florida. LSU is ranked solely because they beat Miss St, who is solely ranked because they beat Texas AM, who was fraudulently ranked to begin with. Not sure if we'll learn much more about Tennessee in this one.
Auburn @ Georgia, 3:30, CBS: Only here because Georgia has been wonky 2 weeks in a row. Beat Kent St at home by 17 then won @ Mizzou by 4. Auburn actually beat Mizzou in OT earlier, so this is another opponent Georgia should crush. UGA fell a spot after the last 2 weeks, and if they struggle again, another drop isn't unwarranted. Bryan Harsin outlasting at least 5 P5 coaches so far this year is a bit of an upset.
Utah @ UCLA, 3:30, FOX: HUGE tilt in the Pac 12. 2 of the 4 remaining unbeatens in conference play. Utah has been rolling since an opening night loss @ Florida. UCLA played their first real team last week and derailed the Penix express. Both teams still have to play Oregon and USC, so the loser is in a bit behind the 8 ball.
BYU vs ND, 7:30, NBC: Game being played in Vegas. With Wisconsin and MSU falling apart, and Iowa underwhelming, OSU's SOS could use a shot in the arm. ND still has Clemson and USC, so probably need to win this one for any shot at 9 wins.
Texas AM @ Bama, 8, CBS: This was supposed to be the most anticipated game of the regular season, after AM pulled the upset last year and the Jimbo/Saban NIL kerfuffle of the summer. However, Texas AM has been brutally bad on offense and is a doinked FG away from being 2-3. Bryce Youngis 'day to day' according to Saban. Bama was able to eventually pull away from Arkansas last week with their backup QB. I don't know if Texas AM can score double digits in this game.
