2022 Season | Series #23 | Red Sox @ Guardians | June 24-26

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
A little bingo, boys. A little bingo. 3 runs ain't nuthin.

Nothing but the die-hard fans left in the stadium now.

Red Sox hit .336 this series. The G's are getting beat soundly at bat, in the field, and on the mound. Tough to watch.

What is obvious:

1. Gonzalez can't go back on a ball. When the ball is over his head he gets turned around, loses track of it, and waves helplessly as it sails over his head. He's much better coming in on fly balls. They should play him deeper.

2. Miller can't dig low throws out of the dirt at first base. He shouldn't be playing there.

3. Clement is an excellent defensive first baseman but he's no outfielder.

4. Amed Rosario will continue to strike out on sliders down and away for the rest of his career.

5. The Guardians can't hit lefties to save their lives.

6. The Red Sox are easily the better team. Other than Jose we don't have anybody who compares to Devers, Bogaerts, and Martinez. Their catchers have gone 5-for-11. The Guardians' catchers went 0-for-9. Their leadoff hitter is 6-for-14 with a walk. They've outscored the Guardians 18-7 in our house.

7. That being said, they're playing great right now, having won 18 of 22.

As for this game:

Tough luck for Civale as the infield hosed up two double plays on low throws by Gimenez and Miller being unable to catch them. Two of the runs he allowed should have been unearned.

More tough luck on multiple line drives right at Red Sox infielders.

Tito's priority was to have the team ready to take on the Twins. Naylor and Kwan were down and Tully got thrown to the wolves.

My recommendation:

Everybody on the team should get sloppy drunk, then go back to the stadium and run the bases in the rain and slide in the mud.

It works in the movies.

Dude, stop while your behind. You just screwed over every single poster here because you just can't stop.
Look, I extended an olive branch and he responded with an FU. If his work life balance is unsustainable, I’m truly sorry but don’t blame me for his decisions to scale back his postings.

At this point I would replace Miller and Clement with Call and Fry. Fry can play 1st and 3rd and Call gives us a righty to take Clement's LF duties. Neither guy is so important that he has to play every day at Columbus. Just a band-aid and not what they really need but this isn't doing Miller, Clement, or the other 24 any good the way it is.
@daddywags
To make that switch you need 2 spots on the 40 man roster to add Call and Fry. Right now there are no open spots.
The remaining open spot (from the DFA of Mercado) was used to add Tanner Tully over the weekend.

Who do you expose to waivers & likely lose off the 40 man for these moves to happen??

Don't mistake this as a defense of having Ernie Clement on the MLB roster & playing/ starting in LF (it isn't).

Are we seriously talking about replacing Miller on the roster just cause he's going through a rough stretch? I can understand Clement but good thing the reactionary posters aren't running the FO.
