2023-24 Regular Season Thread II: March Toward Destiny

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Okoro will struggle in the playoffs, teams will leave him wide open on the 3PL and I have no faith he will make them pay

This is a legitimate concern. However, we should wait and see if the improvement will translate in the playoffs.

Evan Mobley has been upgraded to questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Heat.

Wow Im shocked that Evan is a possibility. He was in a boot not too long ago while Dean is still out with a knee. Not knocking on Wade its just we really need him back. It is what it is

The Fedor article this morning suggested that Evan would be the first of the lot to return and that Miami was a possibility. I pasted the article in this thread

We should trade okoro and a first for Doug McDermott
That's a terrible idea and I'm fine letting Okoro walk if it costs too much to bring him back. McDermott isn't worth a first round pick. He'll probably sign for the MLE this summer.

Okoro for Avdija
Avdjia is the only non-bust prospect they've drafted in a decade. You could offer to draft for them with our pick and attach that player to Okoro and the answer would still be no. Also, Okoro is a RFA. If he's presented with an offer sheet he's willing to sign, that's it. Under the old CBA, there was some chicanery by which you could manufacture a TPE in a S&T, but I'm not sure that's even an option any more.

Other than the 3 games against Charlotte and one at home vs Memphis, a pretty rough final 15 game schedule.

March 18 - at Indiana
March 20 - Miami
March 22 - at Minnesota
March 24 - at Miami
March 25 - Charlotte
March 27 - at Charlotte
March 29 - Philly
March 31 - at Denver
April 2 - at Utah
April 3 - at Phoenix
April 6 - at Lakers
April 7 - at Clippers
April 10 - Memphis
April 12 - Indiana
April 14 - Charlotte

So let's see where we're at:

March 18 - at Indiana - W
March 20 - Miami - L
March 22 - at Minnesota - L
March 24 - at Miami L

Cavs open as 12.5 point favorites against Charlotte tomorrow which going on recent form means a loss

The Cavs are nearing a point where the injured players won't get back in time to
get enough minutes to reach game shape , much less playoff shape.

And when will they have the on court minutes to build up some
synchronicity among those elite 8 guys JBB rides with into the sunset?

The post ASG mojo is just off.

Yeah, I would love to know what is going on. I have a hunch Mitchell is hurt worse than we know. It's just bizzare he comes back and everyone is back to January level effort vs the Pelicans. Even with Mitchell shaking off rust. Then watching him gimp around vs the Rockets they quit. Then we find out the bone bruise wasn't healing and they look like death warmed over ever since.
