Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No. He’s above average in CF and his limited offense negates his effectiveness as a LFer. I’m fine with him staying in LF, but they better get a big hitter in CF then. There’s a reason corner OF bats are typically big ones.

They aren't moving Kwan to CF... His OF skills don't translate as well there. It shows when he played CF so you want the top defensive LF to move to a position where he is normal...

If we acquire a bat, it will be someone who can play both 1B and RF and likely bats from the right side. Likely can play LF as well, but they are going to focus on someone who can play on the other side for now...

There ya go talking in certainties again. I guess if we're going down that road then it is a certainty that we won't win shit with Kwan in LF and Straw in CF where they are both BELOW normal for those positions offensively. Kwan is CF is perfectly fine as he has amply displayed in the minors and with Cleveland when played there. So, I guess the question is do you prefer a better than normal defender who is less than normal offensively or a player that is normal defensively and well above normal offensively?

I doubt we get another 1B unless it's a guy like Yepez or Meneses who can also play a corner OF. We could also trade for a guy like Westburg who is ready for a ML opportunity, has a big bat, and has some defensive versatility.

Kwan really wasn't that below normal for LF on 22...

He had a 4 oWAR in 22... Find me a list of LFs with that number. Good luck...

Good! Now move that 4 oWAR to CF where it's even more valuable. Kwan's power was exceptionally below what a normal LFer provides. He hits like a weak middle of the diamond player and that's where he should be unless they make that difference up elsewhere(CF, SS, C). Like I've said a hundred times, the issue with Kwan in LF has more to do with the lack of production and power from numerous other positions. Moving Kwan to CF allows them to find a couple of good bats for the corners which is easier than finding that type of hitter that plays up the middle.

Hey guys, I just turned 24. Can I post in here and just change the title or should I start a new thread for us older, more mature and enlightened folks?

The answer is no! Turning 24 doesn't mean you are more mature now! It just means you are closer to becoming an old fart like most people on here lol

What do you think of this idea...

Phillies get
SP Plesac

Cleveland gets
C Rickardo Perez
PTBNL

Willing to do it?

with the caveat on who the PTBNL can be (provide a list), no

This is a deal where a ML pitcher with some success is discarded for a "whatever you can get" 19 year old who might some day in the far distant future be able to buy alcohol legally.. Under estimating the values of players who have "fallen out of fan favor" isn't practiced by CleFO.. Ricky Rickardo and his Babaloo band isn't enough for Plesac at this time.. A bigger deal that includes other players on both sides would have a better chance of being completed.. Even then, not very likely....

Players/prospects from the Phillies in addition to the baby backstop: Justin Crawford, Griff McGarry and Rafael Marchan (post hamate bone recovery)

Players/prospects from the Guardians in addition to the bad boy pitcher: Oscar Gonzalez, Hunter Gaddis and Logan T Allen..

If the Guardians/Phillies are going to make a deal.. at least one of the players have to have impact during the 2024/5 season.. Both Crawford and Perez don't and won't impact the Guardians until 2025/26 at the earliest.. All the guys listed for the Guardians can and will have impact immediately.. If Logan T Allen is included, someone from the Phillies current "active" roster should be considered...

Just not a great fit.. If the CleFO was enamored of Rickardo Perez, a small "prospect for prospect" deal would make some sense.. Someone like Herrin or Lampe might do..

I'd trade Plesac for a PB&J sandwich. The question is why would the contending Phillies make that deal or have any interest in Plesac at all?

Aren't you the one who always wants catching? Lol

Phillies don't have a lot of good prospects and the ones you mentioned are likely not available outside of an All-Star upgrade if they are available at all.

Now, I am guessing the PTBNL would be someone from last year's draft or this year's draft once they are able to be traded ya know? I get don't sell low on Plesac, but we sometimes need prospects that aren't near rule 5 eligibility since we have a lot right now...

hmm..

Catching in complex leagues isn't what I am advocating for.. you are mistaken to believe that to be the case...

"Not available" is nothing but cutting off discussion.. why bother posting????

Needing non-rule V prospects has never been the point of this or any deal..

If you're interested in a real discussion.. try a different tact..

You pointed out the Phillies top prospects and said they could be available... I completely disagree outside of them getting a legit All-Star upgrade...
