#25: ATH, Jabrill Peppers

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Stories about his attitude and work ethic were common at UM. Harbaugh said he's never seen a player with his talent, who loves to work as much as he does. He would tell stories about how Peppers would cut the line in tackling drills so he could get more reps.

Jourdan Lewis also told a story about Peppers chasing a guy down at practice from 20+ yards behind. He said everyone just looked around and shook their head because Peppers is just so competitive, he couldn't even let the guy score in practice.

Peppers is a football junkie. He has that burning desire to be great. Doesn't mean he will but he has the internal fire you wish every man on your roster did.

That's the guy I want on my team.

Weirdly, I'm strangely on board with this pick. Never was a fan of Peppers in college.

Same way here. He's an exciting enough player to talk yourself into.

He had a quote today that was jaw dropping.

"He hates losing more than he likes winning"

Draft 55 players with that attitude please, I don't care if they're all from Michigan.

For what it's worth...this quote is a cliché.

It's good that he said it, but it's a thing that's said about super competitive people and not something you should be blown away by an athlete saying.

I don't dislike Peppers. Just saying this quote is a thing.

I want him to endear himself like Steve Everett or Leroy Hoard.

Thom Darden too. I made fun of Peppers at Michigan- one interception and all that- but it's easy to get excited about the idea of him patrolling the Browns defense.

If Gregg Williams uses him like troy p in Pittsburgh and give him that ability to free lance it will be insane

I know the Peppers pick polarized the forum for a few days but he's our guy now. We know what he's capable of on the field but his attitude is just as important to a team like the Browns. No more loser mentality. He's a football player, the type that will do whatever the coaches ask of him and those are the types of guys that we need. I've been looking for a bit more behind-the-scenes stuff to catch a glimpse of his personality and figured i'd share. If we can get the best out of him on the field, I have little doubt he can lead our guys off the field. We need to start molding the leaders on the defensive side of the ball.

Does he start the 1st snap on defense or will he be eased in?

On a team full of talented guys with questionable motors it's refreshing to have someone who will go all out. He and nassib will become favorites of Gregg Williams because of their motor.

If he isn't starting somewhere on the defensive side of the ball day 1, we whiffed on another pick. Hue recently stated that he would also be involved in the offense in some capacity.

The rap on Polamalu coming out was that he wasn't strong in coverage, and the pick was mocked to some extent. His first year wasn't good, either. But once the dude figured out the pro game, he basically invented a position that fit his skills. Gregg Williams isn't Dick LeBeau, but in terms of being able to use a guy like Peppers, he's may be just as good.

Though I sharted when we picked him, I've come way around on this pick. The attitude/motor, plus the athleticism and instincts on run defense make him a potential impact player fast. It has been a very long time since we've had a real attitude on defense, and I don't think we should discount what he can add in that regard

I think they play him immediately. He and Garret can add another level of panic to the opposing offense..

Can't wait to see him in safety blitz packages...
