Andre Drummond - LeBron's Robin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
SMH!!!! If a player isn’t named LBJ we want him gone!!! Wow! You do realize that without Dre we are a four win team right now, don’t you?
i doubt it. Drummond is a sieve defensively. I suspect replacing his minutes would not be that hard, especially with Allen on board. He isn't coming back here.

Once Drummond is gone, I would bet you all will turn your criticism to Allen and McGhee and Okoro as the teams pints and rebounds go down.

Curious what brings you to that conclusion?

Points will go down? Do you even watch cavs games? 46% fg on 2 point fgs and almost 4 turnovers a game... he ain’t helping out offense lmfao

Sometimes I wonder if sportswriters just make this stuff up.
Today there's a report in The Athletic (information that you actually have to pay for), that the Nets are waiting for the Cavs to buy out Drummond's contract. Now why in the world would the Cavs do that?
1.The Cavs are a playoff contender right now.
2. Although Drummond is far from a perfect fit, on any given night he can dominate.
3. His contract expires at the end of the season.
4.The Cavs can use more assets after throwing away plenty for KPJ.
5. While the only way the Nets could acquire him would be a buyout, there are plenty of other teams that would be interested in the expiring contract.
6.F the Nets. I'm sick of 'em.

I was thinking the same thing.

Of all the scenarios we've heard about and discussed regarding Drummond, a buy out is a new one. And I agree. Unless the Cavs were playing .200 basketball and Drummond erupted about all the losing in the locker room (not that he knows anything except losing) I don't see why they'd buy him out this year.

Utter nonsense clickbait

Seems everyone is running with that story...I can't see why the Cavs would buy him out, even if they get a few picks or something.

Well, they're not going to get any picks back if there is a buyout. He would be a free agent who could sign with any team.

I just don't see Koby being willing to buyout Drummond just so he could go sign with a team against whom we would be competing. If it ever got to the point where he got truly disruptive - which I think would be extremely unlikely -- I think Koby would be more likely to give him the JR treatment and pay him to sit home.

Appeasing blackmailers isn't a good long term strategy, especially when the blackmail could be repeated so easily by others.

Every year bad teams buy out players in the last year of their contract. The rub here is that the Cavs are improving and competing for a playoff spot. Not to mention youngish players like Drummond who are looking for another big payday typically don't give up their Bird rights in a buyout. I highly doubt he turned down that Cavs extension just to be bought out.

To me it sounds like some big markets are dreaming and the Cavs are the target since they have a surplus of bigs on the roster.

Lol, the Nets probably paid that guy to say it, because they realized It was stupid to trade away all their defense. Let this be a lesson to all those superstars who want to force their way to stacked teams. I wouldn't even answer their calls, and I hope the cap shrinks on them for good measure!

You would do it if it got you under the cap or something, but it literally cannot help the Cavs to buyout Drummond or Kevin. Both of whom they expect to contribute.

This isn't not only a buyout scenario, it is the wrong time to be talking about this 2 months before the deadline.

I have only seen buyouts at this point when a team is cratering and an old player decides to leave significant money on the table to play elsewhere
