Sometimes I wonder if sportswriters just make this stuff up.
Today there's a report in The Athletic (information that you actually have to pay for), that the Nets are waiting for the Cavs to buy out Drummond's contract. Now why in the world would the Cavs do that?
1.The Cavs are a playoff contender right now.
2. Although Drummond is far from a perfect fit, on any given night he can dominate.
3. His contract expires at the end of the season.
4.The Cavs can use more assets after throwing away plenty for KPJ.
5. While the only way the Nets could acquire him would be a buyout, there are plenty of other teams that would be interested in the expiring contract.
6.F the Nets. I'm sick of 'em.
