Could make the case it was the Mahomes injury, but the Browns/Baker absolutely played the Chiefs tougher than the Bills/Allen. Hard not to think what-if, but no way I’m giving up on Baker.

I fully believe that if the Browns got past the Chiefs (and they had their chances), they'd be going to the Super Bowl this year.

The most ridiculous thing ever. It is literally impossible to watch the Cavs here unless you use an illegal streaming site.

I have a friend (former coworker in MLB) who now works pretty high up in the NBA Digital team, even he was lamenting the absurd classification of blackouts the NBA is hamstrung by.

It's absolutely no way to market their product, and I thought MLB was as bad as it was going to get.

This is demonstrably worse.

They even used to black out some national (ESPN/TNT) games a few years ago. I spent some time looking into why. Supposedly FSO is offered in a some special package if you live in a certain part of the Pittsburgh market (e.g., like New Castle or something - don't quote me on it) on one of the satellite dish TV services. Because the local channel is an "option" in the market - its a no go for the rest of the whole market. It sucks because 90%+ in Pittsburgh have either Comcast or Verizon FiOS and FSO is not even an option you can pay for.

The Cavs and NBA are missing out on a market. I know several lifetime Pittsburghers that drive to Cleveland for a few games a year. While Pittsburgh is probably well down the list as a potential expansion city, there's definitely people that would watch it occasionally....especially with sports gambling being legal here now. You'd think the league would like to pick up the fans.

While I agree on we won’t be getting Watson, I still think we can improve our offense more.
No longer does the phrase “Defense wins championships” apply. Points, Points and more Points is want we need to win.

The caveat I have no choice but bring up is that this isn't the late 1980s, and the Browns can't just Niners and Cowboys the hell out of free agency. Management of the cap is going to be more important this off-season than any other.

The decrease in gate revenue is going to result in a decrease in money shared between the 32 teams. This in turn means the salary cap is expected to decrease. The NFL and NFLPA agreed to a salary cap of no lower than $175 million.

The Browns are in great shape, but no team in the NFL is in a position to go out and plug every hole. Priorities are a reality.

I am huge fan of Baker and don't see why you would trade him. I feel like he has become the heart and soul of the team. The energy he has, and has done a great job connecting with the fans. While I do think Watson is a better QB, we would have to give up to much, and who knows if he would even want to stay or come to Cleveland. At time our offense just looked downright scary, I think another year in the system and a second year for KS the offense will be even better. I think if OBJ comes back healthy, that the offense can take another step next year. I think Baker has proven this year he is the man, and has the respect and is the leader of the team now. I think this will lead to him letting the offense flow and work plays in for OBJ into the offense.

If there was any trade market for OBJ, I would definitely be interested in seeing what we can do. I think the offense we run does not need a true #1 receiver as it is designed to look for the open the guy, it is not designed to get certain players open. I would love to see us add a true speed/deep threat on the outside, and a speedy slot guy that we can put in motion and use in the running game with Chubb and Hunt. Watching KC play, it is amazing how well they use motion.

We are in a tough spot this year as well. While we have cap space because of the rollover cap from past years, without it we would have been right up against the cap. If there is ever a year to have good draft capital for a contending team this is the year. Have 9 picks is huge for us this year (2 in the 3rd and 4th) . It will give us the ammunition to move around and get the players we need.

this is a terrible trade for the browns. You are giving up a top 20 WR, a top 10 QB, and 2 first round picks. to get a top 5 QB. fuck no.

As as been speculated many times even if this was a 1 for 1 Mayfield for Watson from a browns stand point it still just doesnt make sense
Yeah if it was for mahomes I’d be all for it. But the difference between Watson and baker isn’t worth all of that.

I don't think the Texans do that, either.

If they trade for Baker, they have to pay him soon, but with a roster not ready to compete. They'd be be better trading him for just draft capital and re-start with a rookie QB (either this year or in the future) and a cap space.

Plus, they can probably get 2 1st rounders from the Jets, and those will be much better picks in all likelyhood.

Texans would be all over that trade...
