While he was one of the better Lakers last year, he was still a big defensive minus. He also mostly plays 4 now so would competing for playing time with Love and Wade off the bench.

This all assumes hed be willing to come play in cle anyway

I dont like that move. Wade is the polar opposite of Melo as a team first, low usage, plus defender. We need him to help check big wings. Wade is honestly worth a 10m contract

We have plenty of those guys now. Okoro, Steven's, ochai, the vets we brought in, we need somebody with experience to get us a bucket if we need a shot in the arm.

Sexton and love cover that fine imo

We have 3ish guys to cover big wings - Wade, Stevens, and sometimes Lauri. Lauri struggles with the faster and shifter guys. Okoro and Och are too small to put on Kawhi, PG, Middelton, DDR etc

This is the tricky part of these hypotheticals...you dont just get to add 13ppg to the boxscore. Those 13ppg are shots that come at the expense of other players. The time hes on the court means his man may score 16ppg.

If it was just as easy as adding points, of course it'd be wise to add him. But theres loads of nuance there.

Respectfully, he is a scorer, but he has never been part of a ring team in the NBA. Even with James and AD, they couldn't make the playoffs.

Hell he would've been better than levert. Even at his age now if we needed a bucket I'd trust him over levert.
