This was the most predictable development ever in the history of basketball, but if you look back on this thread and the Garland thread at the time of the draft you will find lots of people coming up with excuses for how this pairing could work.
Agreed. Garland was a horrible pick

Still 3-4 possessions a game he needs to pass the ball out, but he was moving the ball tonight

Appreciate the scouting report. How's Sexton's scoring efficiency?
I mean to be fair his shooting percentage is up from 43% last year to 45% so far this year, and his true shooting percentage is 53% this year, which imo is quite solid if you take into the fact that he has to create his own shot most of the time. Sexton has his flaws but being able to score, actually pretty efficiently, isn’t one of them.

yeah we are going to need a list of 21 year olds that are blowing him out of the water. Historically how bad is he?

That seems fair. Welcome to the board, Ram.

but on a serious note, Sexton is just too fast and aggressive for the majority of NBA perimeter players to stay in front of. He doesn’t have a fancy handle. Little hesi then 100 mph right by you. Also getting pretty liberal with that off arm bar to create space.

If you don't think Sexton is showing some signs of moving the ball better , you aren't paying attention. Not setting
the house on fire, but definitely not such a dead hole. You can knock his assist total but he can't control when
teammates can't hit their shots. He also is getting more 'hockey' assists.

His defense is woeful but almost the entire rest of the team is in the same boat.

There are still some times where he just doesn’t see the open man, but he is definitely getting better at passing the ball. Also nice to see his 3 point shot hitting consistently, he’s shooting 48% from 3 since the start of the new year.
