While many panned my Ben Simmons comment, my point remains that Colin, ripped as he is, with his comfort in traffic, and sense of space, can get buckets against tough defenses.. the video highlights why he would be better equipped to do that with the game on the line, despite not being 6'5" or whatever...

I think he is better defensively than many on this board.. which is not to say he is good.. I think Garland gives up more defensively by a wide margin..

Collin has made strides defensively. If he can really continue to play off the ball successfully he may have more energy there. HIs effort waned as the year went on and he had to carry the load offensively.

No question when they were playing aggressive D last year, Collin benefitted the most because he was able to get so many easy pts in transition

I also think part of the "waning of effort" later in the season, and drop in his 3pt. 5 was due to his ankle injury.

I do too. He looked very tired and his speed wasn't as good as usual. I'm sure it is hard to stay engaged as well when everyone is hurt and you just can't score enough points to win.

If the Cavs really do make some kind of move to get Simmons I hope the entire front office is soon out of a job as a result of it. They cannot be that blind can they? SImmons quit on Philly numerous times in the playoffs and has his head in the wrong place with the lack of desire to be anything more than he already is. He got paid and now just wants to head to the west coast to live the life that comes with being a nba player. He doesn't care about winning obviously.
I would take the 6'1 Sexton any day over this kind of loser that has no drive to improve

I know winning cures a lot, but rooting for an underachiever is so much harder than for an overachiever.

That would be where the Shawn Kemp comps are legit. You feel a little dirty being a fan at that point. It's an odd juxtaposition because all defensive first team and underachieving is normally not in the same package.

Agree 100%

The packages being suggested for Simmons would set the Cavs back 5-10 years. Trading for him and giving up Sexton plus a bunch of future firsts could be the move that kills the franchise in Cleveland.

The most I would give up would be Okoro and a future protected 1st in 2023 or 2024. Doubt that would be enough to get a deal done which is even better.

I just love his facial expression in that shot. It's possible that the kid may always have flaws in his game that prevent him from ever becoming a great player, but I'm always going to love the way he approaches the game. He plays with joy, and determination, and always plays fearlessly. Love watching that even if it doesn't always translate to wins.

In a league that sometimes has too many whiners, prima donnas, and entitled pricks, Collin just does it all right. He, Larry Nance Sr., and Delly are my top 3 favorite Cavs because those dudes always played the game the right way.
Probably one of the reasons why I really want Sexton to do well and I hope he can continue to be in our team for many years and be a star.

yep there is no reasonable scenario outside of dumping KLove and a couple end of the bench fillers as far as trade value that makes any sense for CLE not even getting into the issues with him as a person and his lack of character. Then add that kind of KLove etc offer obviously would get outbid eventually maybe at the deadline by a team with internal issues trying to add a defender on the wing.
I don't see too many teams having the return value Morey is wanting let alone being willing to part with it. I also don't think outside of a team with a war chest of them like OKC that giving up draft assets for a non shooter is very likely by any team. Basically Simmons is a headache and his limitations at this point are too easy to capitalize against.

It would be nice,if the officials call the landing zone fouls like they're suppose to. For whatever reason, every other team get that foul call but us. I just dont understand it at all.

Teams were purposely putting their feet under Collin every time he did a jumpshot and the officials just let it go. It was so bad the organization sent a couple if videotapes to the league and nothing really happend.

This is pure fiction. In three seasons, he's not even a little bit better on that side of the court. We were the worst defensive 3 point% team in the NBA and he wouldn't even go over the top of screens.

I agree Sexton has not seemed as interested in defense in the second half of the season after the injuries, I disagree he wasn't trying before that and starting to be more aware of what was happening before it took place.
If you hate Sexton so much you are going to be an angry fan , because they pretty much just confirmed he getting paid soon and aint going anywhere.
