Not trying to be argumentative, but Sexton produced 24 PPG on 50/37/81 shooting last season. He’s arguably the best microwave scorer in the league if that’s what you want him to do as a bench guy. There is no “finding a replacement.” Hope is basically the strategy at that point.

I don’t want to trade him but I do like the idea of him coming off the bench!

I'd say we're a long ways from coming to any kind of a conclusion. Therefore you can hold on to whatever your current disposition is regarding Sexton. It can be argued either way and neither argument is close to being conclusive at this point in time.

I prefer to think he could most definitely be back at a fair salary, and he could most definitely thrive and contribute to this team's success.

His injury makes it more likely that he does come back on a smaller/shorter deal.

If he had not been hurt, we’d be very actively including him in offers before the deadline.

Alas, his value is tanked being injured and going into RFA.
