Perhaps they just forgot about him?
They probably haven't seen him play this year then. He still has tunnel vision but its no longer the chunnel.Nope, mentioned him, but said bad efficiency which isn't really true, and said tunnel vison, tunnel vision tunnel vision.
I know his advanced stats are bad but its hard not to see him in the top ten. In any case this seems like an outlier, most redrafts I have seen have him between 7th and 10th.
The mid range shot vs three point shot is simple maths, the rest of your post I agree with though.I hate advance stats with a passion. A player can go 7/17 17 pts,6 rebounds, 5 assists but get a plus. Meanwhile, a player can go 10/18 25pts,7 rebounds and 7 assists but get a minus.
And,then tell the players to stop taking mid-range shots because it's inefficient but want them go behind the three-point line, which is a more inefficient shot unless you're Lillard,Harden and Steph. Then, tell a player,if he doesn't bring his three-point shooting percentage up, he's gone.
Collin seem to be more comfortable around the mid-range area but got scolded by his teammates in his rookie year to take more threes.
I don't understand, how a guy that's third in scoring in his draft class gets hardly no recognition. It makes no sense to me at all...And,when he does it shit like "being the leading scorer for the Cavs aint nothing to brag about". But,folks be bragging about Trae Young average every chance they get....Meanwhile, the Hawks haven't been anything since the 2015- 2016 season.
People act like scoring 20 points a game is easy. You got veterans than barely score 10 a game. Can you imagine,if Sexton had the same calls as Trae Young, he'll be living on the free throw line averaging about the same amount as him and Luka.
Wow I was listening to the Duncan and Hollinger re-draft of 2018. They didn't even have Collin in the top 15. I get they are not up on his facilitating and defense, but man that seems really off. They had Bagley, Mikal Bridges, Wendell Carter, Bamba, and Donte Divincenzo higher. Devonte Graham at his advanced age is higher on their list, and Mitchell Robinson, which is fine, but going in the 2nd round means he was not in play whatsoever.
He's the 3rd leading scorer in a draft that produced 2 allstars in year 2 that are scoring almost 30 a game. Even if you were biased against him 20ppg at 20 seems like he should get you in the top 15. I get where they are coming form liking some guys game better, but there were so many guys that they were still thinking could maybe produce, when Collin has actually been producing.
IMO, the only guys that have a case ahead of him are Doncic, Trae, Ayton, Jackson, and Shai. Michael Porter Jr is fine to like a lot, but even Holinger said he is not likely to play a large number of games in his career.
I know other people don't value him like we do, but saying he shouldn't have been taken in the lottery seems way off. Like the odds of Mikal Bridges becoming a better player at this point are super low. Devonte Graham is blowing my mind. He is 24, 3 years older, worse in every way including efficiency while scoring 12.5 vs 18.5 per game. He's a better defender at 24 and gets 2 mores assists per game.
I remember you mentioned this a couple of months ago about the 2 Denver games in comparison and I took a look back again. Indeed both of his games were great and game style was different. Really amazed how how his decision making has improved tremendously and those 2 really showed how far has he improved in such span. I never have seen 2 consecutive years who has improved during the season.2 really good games to watch are the 2 against Denver. In the first, Collin has a really good "Collin" game where he and Darius scored a lot, but completely separately. Collin looks almost like he is playing in a different game than everyone else. In the 2nd, he really plays a team game, and even though he goes off, it doesn't feel like he is taking shots from someone else, and his decionmaking looks miles better. He grew a lot this year. I just hope that continues.
The bolded is just not true in any way whatsoever.I hate advance stats with a passion. A player can go 7/17 17 pts,6 rebounds, 5 assists but get a plus. Meanwhile, a player can go 10/18 25pts,7 rebounds and 7 assists but get a minus.

It is a complete outlier. I looked at 5 other random redrafts and no-one else had Sexton outside the top ten. It's probably because Hollinger is a analytics guy.The bolded is just not true in any way whatsoever.
I agree it's ridiculous that Collin can't even crack the top 15 while Trae Young gets hyped up, but you either need to be Durant/Kawhi good from midrange or Westbrook bad from 3 point range for midrange shots to have any chance to be more efficient than a 3 pointers.
I don't think it's fair to blame his coaching considering they did help him develop enough to get to the NBA. It's not like he was just accidentally doing well enough to get drafted. It is a complete outlier. I looked at 5 other random redrafts and no-one else had Sexton outside the top ten. It's probably because Hollinger is a analytics guy.
On a different question, it is surprising to me that someone who definitely works hard, seems to be coachable (based on the interviews with Gottlieb) and is pretty smart (based on high school and college gpa) was so raw coming out of college. What were is high school and college coaches teach8ng him?

I was comparing him to other one and dones and basing it on things like the statement from the vets last year. For one thing he wasn't considered a major recruit until his junior year of high school and he started destroying 5 star guys in hoop summit, all American etc.
Still, with his production it seems odd that people have guys who basically haven't done anything like Bagley or bamba ahead of him
