He’s been so much better lately than he was to start the season. He clearly works best with KPJ in place of Sexton and with Henson on the floor to mask some of his defensive shortcomings. Hopefully if we end up trading love we get people who can actually shoot to replace him like Simons or Bridges because he deserves better spacing than the Cavs have given him.
It is somewhat shocking how little on court chemistry Garland and Sexton have this far into the season. I have no idea what their relationship is off the court, but on the Court its non-existent. I believe Sexton's playing style is hindering Garland's ability as a playmaker.

Who has court chemistry with Sexton? Hard to establish that if you don't pass.
No one does, the guy is the most selfish player I have ever seen. You’d think he’d be embarrassed by his lack of assists by now and start passing

I find it weird when they asked about his playmaking early in the year, no one asks him about his dropping assist rate.

The thing that bugs me is that it is not even vision, it is decision making. If the shot isn't there pass. Defenders are selling out to stop him in the paint. he could actually score easier if he passed once in a while.

Continues to play the right way. Tonight, the shot is starting to fall. Other nights, it hasn't. He may get cold in the fourth.

At this stage, those are peripheral concerns. The fact that he is continuing to play the right way ... extremely happy.

And you can see the vets are starting to have more confidence in him, even when he goes ISO, partly because he is more than willing to give the ball up once he starts going into his offense.

Excellent growth and development.

Sexton out now. I would love to see what Garland can do with a guy who doesn't dribble as much alongside him.

It’s time to make Garland the primary ball handler.

He brought the Cavs back in the game with his defense, shooting and passing.

Give him the keys.
He also is much better at seeing plays when defenders beat the pick-and-roll. That means the offense doesn’t die when he initiates but gets beat.

I still find his shooting inside the paint to be a big problem. But hopefully he gets stronger this summer and that becomes less of a problem.

I try to watch the "every possession" videos of Garland after each game and I really believe he's going to be a good player. You can see his confidence building as well as his conditioning, and I can't help but feel most of the time he makes the right basketball decision with the ball, which is what you want out of your point guard.

The 3 point stroke is as pure as advertised. His handle and vision are clearly there.

I think the Cavs got a foundational point guard who can be a starter at minimum. He's better now than a guy like Jamal Murray was as a rookie. The ceiling is very high though. He's got the talent to be an all-star.

If the Cavs can find a legit forward in this draft to pair with Garland, and Porter continues to develop, and Windler gets on the court and develops into any sort of contributor, there's a core in place. This upcoming draft is massive.

My biggest gripe is that I feel like the ball just isn't in his hands enough. This needs to start becoming his show. The sooner the better.

I'd rather see his bad nights be 6/20 from the field with 9 turnovers than 2/8 from the field with 5 turnovers.

I wish he was a little more aggressive, I hope that is something that comes with experience. The guy has some serious talent.
