Derek Jeter

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Me neither ? But, the consensus around here would suggest that you're a lame fucktard who tries to be funny but would probably be better off just going away...

Anywho, Tribe loses today and LORD JETER homered twice....

<s>Silly Rabbit, Trixx are for kids </s> Silly Tribe fans, smack talk is for Champions...:king:

Ah, the champion comment. Traditional smack for bandwagon fans.

Jeter hits a HR for 3000 (congrats, bum)...... But what I really want to say is the guy who caught it gave the ball back to Jeter for nothing in return. Nice thing to do, sure. But the guy is a 23 year old cell phone salesman and in my book is now one of the dumbest people in the world.

The ball was worth an estimated $250,000. That is life changing. Maybe he was stupid and didn't realize the ball had a lot of value so he gave it back. Either way, nice guy, but nice guys finish last. This guy is a complete fool.

Yankees did notice his kindness and give him 4 tickets to a suite for every game the rest of the season (including playoffs). He also gets some memorabilia and gets to meet Jeter.

I am sure there will be someone on their high horse saying they would do the same thing and give it back for nothing yada yada yada. IT IS $250,000!!!!!

The guy got all those tickets, plus the memorabilia. He is also supposed to get more down the road for future seasons.

Even though it's not all the money, the return is pretty good. Those tickets give him a chance to catch some more homeruns :chuckles:

I thought what the guy did was cool as hell. Shows alot of integrity on his part, which as a salesman should benefit him. The Yanks also compensated him nicely- those Legends seats are worth about 4K alone (over 1K each, right b00bie/PIP? Or am I wrong there?). Plus 4 suite tickets for the remaining season including playoffs? Could make a killing scalping those if he wanted to make a few bucks- especially the playoff tickets. Plus who knows what kind of memorabilia he got, too- a bunch of bats and jerseys. Plus, he got to shake Jeter's hand- that has to be priceless for true Yankees fan. He is probably never going to wash that hand ever again.

As for Jeter- good for him. Crazy how he is the first Yankee to actually meet that milestone- makes you wonder why so many Yankees are in the HOF, then, if none of them were capable of reaching a simple benchmark like that. Can they rescind HOF inductions? Maybe some reviews of former Yankees inductees are in order if that is allowable.

All you care about is money. This city deserves a better class of criminal, and I'm gonna give it to 'em.

I understand it's 250k...

But some people aren't all money driven. He gets amazing seats for who knows how long in the future. Gets to meet probably his favorite player, gets memorabilia and autographs and such.

Or he could have his 250k and pull a dick move on a great story and become Steve Bartman Lite in NYC.

Not sure how simple it is though. If you get 200 hits a year for 10 straight years, you are only at 2000 hits. 15 straight gives you 3000. Most players don't last even 10 years in MLB. This is the biggest reason why there have only been 28 total who have reached 3000.

Got to give Jeter some kudos.

You lost credibility, with me, here. I don't like the guy, but it is admirable and Jeter is a guy who is keeping the integrity of the game in tact. As for the compensation, he can sell those tickets for plenty of money that can be life changing, you don't need 250K necessarily. He can also go to any playoff game he wants to see. Win-win.

I would have burned the ball...after pooping on it.

Yankee fans are the most loyal people on the planet...

Furthermore, Jeter getting that ball back for free reflects more on Jeter than anything else....Jeter is lord !!!

It is a fucking baseball. I highly doubt it means the world to Jeter to have it. 250k to a 23 year old guy means a hell of a lot more than a BASEBALL to a guy with 100+ mil in his bank.

You guys can say whatever you want, you know you would take the $.

Yes.

Agreed, I would take the money. Never understood why a fan gives the ball back to a multi millionaire. If it means that much to him, he can buy it himself. Or better yet, the Yankess can spend the money for the ball and give it to Jeter.
