Get Excited Somewhere Else: John Dorsey

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
As a KC fan, I thought Dorsey was a solid GM. Has a good eye for talent in the middle rounds. Not afraid to take chances on players with character issues such as Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill. Also traded UP to take a quarterback last year (Loved the pick then and still do). The chances of drafting a QB round 1 have gone up significantly with the signing of Dorsey.

The only negative I had with Dorsey is his managing of cap space. Gave some vets deals that they didn't deserve. The reason he was fired was due to communication issues with the owner Clark Hunt, hopefully history doesn't repeat itself.

We get it, some of you loved him. Equally insufferable.
The defense was recognized for stoping the run three weeks ago by pro football focus. How quickly you forgot. Remember not everyone was judging succcess by wins and plays on the field .

Most people on here, myself included, are more upset they kept Hue than they fired Sashi.

Fair enough if that’s the take, wasnt what I was seeing from certain folks but okay.

I think I've mentioned that I'm a "bandwagon" Chiefs fan. I pay attention when they're good, and when they suck, I tune out.

I know who he is, but I honestly couldn't tell you anything about him. Hell, didn't even dawn on me when I saw it on Twitter that KC was his last stop.

Hopefully @Walter White can provide some insight here. Sorry guys.
Not going to lie, I've been tuning out during this losing streak, I'm the same way :chuckle:

But for what I know about Dorsey, I think he is a strong personality but he is smart. I think he has a good balance of trusting his gut and eyes when evaluating players as well as making sure analytics backs it up. At least that is what I've gathered watching him speak at the drafts and interviews.

The team he built in KC fit well together for style of players and coaching I thought. We have had our most success in years under him and I don't know what happened with him in KC. But I think he should fit well with the Browns. And I think he can help them win sooner rather than later.

And everyone has talked themselves back into three years of Browns just like that...again...

So piles of leaves will be left sitting, grass unmowed, children ignored...all because of another “exciting hiring” (!!!!!)

@natedagg @Huber. @SuperSurge

Meanwhile Jimmy still owns them, Hue still coaches them.

You guys are something else. :chuckle:
Got a good chuckle reading this thread after the "I hope Jimmy goes to jail" posts not even 12 hours old. Nothing this franchise could do would get me excited.

Well he won't have that problem here. Cheap contracts and cheap contracts only.

Whereas Wolf decided to change coaches after the '91 season when he fired Lindy Infante and hired Mike Holmgren, Dorsey and Haslam discussed at length the idea of retaining Hue Jackson as the Cleveland coach, sources said. Dorsey and Haslam each were comfortable with going forward with Jackson, which will allow the Browns' new general manager to focus primarily on the team's personnel, the 2018 draft and the free agent market, the sources added.

John Dorsey must be a stupid idiot to agree to this setup.

Hue must have key evidence against Jimmy somewhere in a safe deposit box.

There are zero logical reasons for an incoming GM to want a guy that has not only demonstrated staggering incompetence, but who also threw his predecessor under the bus and constantly undermined him.

Not the kind of subordinate I would want.

(And if Hue isn't his subordinate then something is seriously flawed in that command structure).

HE ISN'T.

Dorsey reports directly to Jimbo.

Hue reports directly to Jimbo.

DePodesta -- who is somehow still here -- reports directly to Jimbo.

What's the common denominator of failure in this equation?

Can we petition the NFL to have Jimmy lose custody of the Browns?

The relationship is abusive.
