Joe Schobert

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Can we keep Hunt? I really hope we can somehow. He’s a huge difference maker.

At the end of the Miami game thread, Lee and I had a little back and forth about his value, but I definitely think the interest in keeping Hunt in Brown and Orange is mutual. This is his home and the team had his back at his personal low point. Plus, it's beautiful the way Hunt and Chubb work together, blocking for each other like fullbacks when the other guy gets the call.

I think Schobert is going to be priority #1 in free agency. Lock down Schobert, make a competitive offer to Randall, secure Hunt (RFA) to a multi-year deal if you can. After that, Eric Murray and Justin McCray would be nice to hang onto but nobody is irreplaceable.

If I’ve gotta pick two of the three, I’m going with Scho and Hunt. Would love to hang onto Randall, but I don’t consider him to be irreplaceable.

Agreed. If I had to pick one, I'm picking Scho though. Randall really hasn't made any plays this year and hasn't been available for a number of games.

That’s a tough one, although I tend to agree. It’s not often you can have two of the undisputed best at their position (with regards to Chubb and Hunt) on the same roster.

Really though, I hope they can hang onto all three and then dump their remaining assets into strengthening the offensive line.

He should be, but there was a fairly strong chorus claiming that Schobert was gone at the end of the season because "Dorsey doesn't value linebackers". I'm curious if they still feel the same certainty that we won't spend money to keep him. We got murdered last year by underneath passes in those games Schobert missed, but you can see how his presence this year has really helped plug that particular hole in the defense.

Losing him would be a major blow.

Worth noting that this should be a really good RB draft class, so if Hunt is on anything other than a bargain contract we would probably be better off taking a day two back instead and getting four years cost controlled.

Do we also get a compensatory pick if Hunt walks?

If we don't re-sign the best linebacker we've had in my lifetime i might quit the browns. Much rather have Scho than Randall.

Garrett
Ogunjobi
Scho
Mack
Ward
Greedy

These 6 are our future on defense and we can't afford to lose any of them! Pay them.

Make a market offer, but don't overpay. Let the Jags or Jets do that.

Maybe it's me but Schobert seems to be getting lucky with these INTs and it's not sustainable. It seems like every tipped pass falls into his chest
