Lindor trade ideas

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Merryweather was going to be in the pros before he had Tommy John and even at 29, if he's still a top prospect in any system, scouts must like him. Now I get at the end of the day, he needs to kind of be in the package like we felt Hedges was and not a main person in the deal.
Bottom line Coach, DeCastro and Merryweather are nowhere near enough to get McKenzie, and like I stated Guirriel Jr and Woods Richardson are what I expect in return for Lindor and I would prefer Frazier and Gil. You could probably get a third piece too, like you've stated. A decent third piece would be either of DeCastro or Merryweather.........maybe.

I tell you what. Call the Phillies and tell them they could have DeCastro and Merryweather for Bohm and see what they say. After McKenzie's performance, he and Bohm are at least similar in value.

Uhhh, no I didn't gloss over anything. The proposed deal was a 4 for 2 suggestion. Those 4 were Guirriel Jr, Woods Richardson, DeCastro, and Merryweather. There is no f'n way I'm giving up McKenzie for DeCastro and Merryweather because Guirriel Jr and Woods Richardson are what's it's going to take to get Lindor. I'd prefer Frazier and Gil to them anyway and I'm sure the Yankees would gladly give them and another piece just to keep Lindor out of the Blue Jays hands.

McKenzie is arguably worth more than Lindor at this time and if he's not then I'm damn sure not dealing him when his value is low. He was a top 10 RHP prospect before his injury. He returned with a vengeance and performed superbly in 2020. His stock has never been higher IMO so Toronto can keep their #17 prospect and the 29 yr old relief pitcher whose injury history is worse than McKenzie's. Good Lord! I can't believe I have to explain that to any Tribe fan.

You don't have to explain anything. You evaluted the trade offer without discusssing the merits of Woods Richardson. It's cool, not trying to get into it with you...but I'm not sure he's included if the Indians don't include McKenzie. I think Woods Richardson has much higher upside personally.

Bohm didn't miss two straight seasons of professional baseball due to injuries. I like McKenzie, I really do. But if the Indians deal him it's because they don't think he's going to be able to stay healthy long-term.

Well McKenzie for Bohm wouldn't be the worst deal in the world on paper. I personally think he's better at 1B than 3B but all the simulators and scouting reports essentially put him as a floor of an average RH 1B in the pros. Both guys looked legit talent wise so I wouldn't be against a swap like that at the end of the day. If we trade a pitcher like McKenzie it would be for a similar ranking position prospect type with years of control and Bohm fits it.

If you’re talking about Alec Bohm, I would trade him even up for MacKenzie without hesitation. Bohm will be a star while Tristenwill always be an injury risk.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I wasn’t suggesting trading McKenzie for Bohm. I was stating that their values are at least comparable and that the Phillies would not trade Bohm for the package mentioned from Toronto by Castrovince. Again, sorry I wasn’t clear.

I agree and I wouldn’t make that trade if I were Philly either. However, to suggest that McKenzie is an “injury risk” is pure conjecture. What pitcher isn’t an injury risk?

McKenzie missed almost two seasons, plus he had issues with his velocity during the season as well. To me thats a way higher injury risk than someone who has had a clean track record, but I cannot disagree that at anytime a player can get injured, just some people are more durable than others.

No worries. I just started to salivate over the idea of Bohm in a Tribe uniform.

It’s not a simple as saying he’s injury prone. What was his injury and the nature of it? Is it something that’s likely to reoccur? Structurally he has had no issues.

well.. you can bet any future injuries will not be due to muscle tissues straining or tearing.. he doesn't have any !!!

Therein lies my point. It’s a little early in the game to label him injury prone. Maybe he is and maybe he isn’t. What we do know is that he had a muscle injury in his upper back and that he pitched phenomenally well this past season.

He didn't pitch as well as you think. All the scouts/insider guys, have said, his ability and talent says he has been ready to pitch to top players for awhile now. Now I have never seen a pitcher, mid season completely lose his velocity like he did. That is one of the problems I saw with him last season. If I said I completely trust him going, I would be lying to you which isn't something I do to anyone

He completely lost his velocity? How many innings did he pitch the prior season? Think what you want, butMC and CA hold this kid in high regard.

It was weird. His first few starts he was hitting 95 on the gun but his last few he rarely even hit 92-93. Mostly 90-91. I thought he looked like Plutko. Maybe they had him working on something but I think he got tired.
