Love dissatisfaction with CAVs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Devontae Graham is also hot garbage. Maybe once he gets his FG% to respectable levels I will believe he is legit. But right now he just seems like a Chucker on a bad team padding his stats. The 19-8 look nice but the efficiency on both the scoring and shoot just aren't there for me to believe he's anything more then a chucker hoisting up shots on a bad team. 38.1 percent from the field and 38.9 from three. When your 3 point percentage is some how higher then your normal FG percentage something has gone terribly wrong.

i sure wish we had some “hot garbage” like Devonte!!!! Somebody who actually looks to make those around him better. Coming from any Cavs fan that is hilarious.

It’s not. It’s certainly not worked on like some college defenses but it’s not worse than the NBA for the totality of the year.
It's objectively worse, so I'm not sure what your argument is here.

On a per-possession basis, scoring is higher in the G-League than the NBA.

He doesn't look to make those around him better. He looks to make himself look good by throwing up shots and throwing passes to stat pad. He's also a terrible defender. Dudes a dumpster fire stat padding on a bad team.

Ok. I’ll be happy to share with my Lawrence friends!! They’re about as arrogant as they come.

I mean people are free to like a PG who turns it over a good amount shoots sub 40 from the field and plays terrible defense. My bad for not buying him as a good player.

Devonte is 6th in the NBA in assists and a very good assists/turnover ratio. Hot garbage!! :encouragement:

He's doing pretty good for a 2nd year player. There are no players in the NBA without flaws, there are maybe 10 that are true superstars. Surely, not even enough for one per team. For a guy picked at 34, he is doing just fine. He's outperformed his draft slot already. Any addition growth is gravy.

Comeback kid overstated his opinion that the Gleague is practically the same, but it is obvious there is NBA talent in the Gleague.

I also think that people don't realize how slim the margins are between making it and not making it in the NBA. It can come down to an injury to a better player in front of you in the rotation. Some guys don't get minutes for years. They are at a severe disadvantage to crappier players on crappier teams that have plenty of playing time.

We have this guy Zizic on our team shooting a high fg% and rebounding well. He has only had 1400 career minutes. Collin is closing in on 4000 and has been in the league a year less. We talk all about how Klove needs the guards to get him the ball, but what a about a young big man? I'm not saying he must be great, but he really hasn't had the opportunities others have had to grow their games, and that is true of a lot of Gleague guys too. He couldn't even get minutes when we hac no backup center and then he gets 15 and 12 in 25 min the other night because he played with a guy who knows how to play the pick and roll. It was a score every time with either Exum or Zizic getting the bucket. Nobody on the Wolves could stop that.

I think it is pretty obvious that guys are often misused and miscast and we are always surprised when a guy finds the right team/right system and he breaks out.

I mean Graham has the profile of a useful back up PG. But his lack of efficiency shooting 36 percent on 2 point attempts and terrible defense its Sexton level bad just doesn't profile as a starter. His current profile is a stat padder on a terrible team. Much like his backcourt mate Rozier who's putting up 18/4 as the SG. But his best role would be back up Comboguard. Hornets have 4 guys scoring double digits. Graham, Rozier, Bridges, and PJ Washington. I've seen people act like Graham is their future center piece when in reality he's going to be an okay bench guard on a good team.

Who are you comparing his efficiency and defense to though? Both of those are things that guys improve on over the course of their career. Like everybody. Who is the best defending sophomore? Matisse Thybulle is bigger outlier as a good defender than Graham for making from spot 34. Rozier is 25 an been in the league for 4 year already and yeah I don't love him, but he doesn't suck. The game is just slowing down for Graham even though he is 24 and Hornets fans love him. Arguing they shouldn't seems like arguing to argue.

Also, the Hornets are in the 9th spot and have won 15 games. They are better than us, The bulls, the Wiz. I just don't think it is fair to blast one of their main contributors like that when they are doing pretty good and he is contributing. I mean, I have some respect for the guy. Our team did a good job making his night very hard all last game and he nails a clutch shot to win the game. That is not nothing.

You realize Graham will be 25 by the end of February don't you? And I'm glad Hornets fans love him. But he's not a starting caliber talent in the NBA.

I bet he would look better as the worst starter instead of the 1st or 2nd best. Yeah he is old, but his experience isn't that long. He's played 2000 minutes compared to 6700 for Rozier.

I don't think he is going to break out as a superstar, but increasing his efficiency and improving on defense aren't really impossible tasks.

When your 25 been practicing against top talent (Kemba last year) and your defense is still worse then Sexton who is 21 you have no hope for becoming a better defender. His game fits perfectly for a bench player. Bench players have the freedom to chuck up shots all day long and he will go against weaker competition.
