Moves the Indians should make for the 2nd half

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hentges is a lefty as well isn't he?
yes his makeup is a tad different than the other lefties being discussed as he’s huge with a power arm but not sure he’s got the pitchability for starting personally.

Criz, Logan T Allen was drafted by Cleveland and recently promoted due to his outstanding performance in A+ ball. He is not what most consider a power pitcher.

From what I read, Konnor's FB sits low 90's and hits 94 fairly frequently. Pretty much in line with Cantillo if I'm not mistaken.
Sorry got my T's and S's crossed.

You are correct.

I guess baseball savant is wrong. My bad.
You are not. I did not realize how much of a dip he took this year. Probably explains his issues... I do remember him hitting 95 multiple times this spring though... At least I thought I did.

There was a lot of fluff about his training regime adding ticks to his fastball but honestly it seemed like puff piece from the hometown writers via the club and maybe just coming in amped up. As nice a guy he is and as much as I hope somehow he finds it and regains it he’s always been a pitchability back end guy to me and I’m personally over him. He can hang around to help be AAAA for Columbus but I’m over him getting any more shots in the major league rotation beyond a spot start because A LOT of injuries.

I was just talking to my brother it does seem they are really focused on finding a lefty prospect for the major league rotation with some of the drafting and trading as of late.

No biggie. Just helping a brotha out.

Anyone else wonder if Nikhazy can catch up to these 3? There was a bit of a gap between the current pitchers and the next crop. That gap may have been slightly closed with today's acquisition. I'm not trying to sell Konnor as the next great thing, just emphasizing he's not far off.

Am I wrong in saying I could easily see him not even being rostered? I know if he isn't and is taken a lot of people will be mad but personally I am fine with it. Was a transition year with the possibility to compete, once the rotation was decimated we weren't going to so we might as well start working on the MIF glut that also needs to be rostered even if they don't immediately give us the play Cesar did. Personally I see Konnor in the same area as Adam Scott and Juan Hillman. It's almost like if we get one of our lefties nabbed because un protected we have others that of are similar pedigree so we don't lose them all and we get to start looking to the future at 2B. I mean if he's in the 24 range in that system he's at the moment probably in the 30-50 range for Cleveland. Just my opinion though.

Don't think that's out of the realm of possibility at all.

Rule V isn't exactly heavy on lefty starters with fringe stuff knowing they'll have to carry them throughout an entire season.

Think he's probably an underdog in a race to get added, compared to some others.

Salary dump a lot will claim but I tend to look at it as prospect evaluation at the majors. I see it as if the year is shot let's take a look at what we got and if you want Cesar back, he will be available. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere though next season as I believe in our MIF depth.

75/25 - in regards to a salary dump... IMO. He has a 1 in 4 chance to do "something" in MLB.
Does anyone believe the primary motivator behind moving Cesar is not wanting to pay him for his production?

I think it's clear the primary motivator behind moving Cesar is that he doesn't fit with the core of our next group that can carry us towards contention, so you get what you can for him and let the young guys play here and start to sort out what you have.
