NFL Week 2 (9/14/14): Saints (0-1) @ Browns (0-1) [1:00 PM EST, FOX]

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We were missing 3 of our best offensive playmakers and won. Hoyer deserves a lot of credit.

Time for that Crowell highlight movie with the asinine sub-titles that was posted in OTEAYOr a while back. Someone find that.

The Browns are undefeated at home :biggrinthumb:

Five games with few mistakes. Five games where the Browns always seemed to be in it until the end. Five games where RCF ripped him pretty much the entire time.

Y'all need to start easing up on the guy.

Where you bringing this y'all from? You meet a group of southerners out in Frisco or something?

I lived amongst your slack-jawed hillbilly Western Pennsylvanians for four years before rejoining civilization in San Francisco. Football brings it out...

Missing three major offensive playmakers and Mingo today. Just a great win.

Cameron was a gametime decision, right? If that's the case then hopefully he will be in against Baltimore next week.

Feels good to win.

Hoyer played well. Made a lot of key throws at key times. I was worried about the last drive mostly because we seemed to be best when we ran the ball. But Hoyer pulled it together.

It is more impressive considering we were missing Cameron, our best weapon that was going to be available from the start. Gordon was missing but we knew that going into the season.

The run game looks great.

The defense was decent. They faded as the game went on. Could have really used Mingo in the second half when our pass rush started to die.

Jimmy Graham is a monster.

Hoyer is just gonna be Hoyer.

Not going to make many stupid mistakes, but just isn't very good either. You live with him and try to develop some continuity while you pound the rock.

I'm not going to knock Hoyer anymore on that performance, as he did make some good throws at the end, but I just don't like the argument of him not having his weapons out there as an excuse to make the performance look better than it was. Even with the replacements in, you still saw them get open, and Hoyer was missing a lot.

But he led a good final drive, and deserves credit for that. Crowell is going to need more touches going forward. He looks monstrous.

Sorry, but there is no question in my mind that Miles Austin, Andrew Hawkins, Gary Barnridge, Jim Dray and whoeverthefuck Gabriel are the worst top five NFL receiving options I've seen in a long time. And we still won. That's just awesome.

Hoyer isn't a great QB or anything, but the loss of Gordon really does have a huge impact on the offense. None of the other receivers are any kind of threat down the field, so it effectively shrinks the field where Hoyer can go with the ball. If you have to have a deep safety over the top of Gordon, that is two defenders out of the way of the other guys running their underneath routes, and it makes a noticeable difference. If we had Gordon and a run defense I believe Hoyer could take this team to the playoffs. Unfortunately we don't have either of those things.

DAT RUNNING GAME

Hoyer did everything he needed to do and it's the same thing he has done from game 1 with the Browns.

He put this team in a position to win. He LEADS an offense. Who gives a shit about stats, dude is one hell of a player when the game is on the line.

Browns are 3-1 for a reason when he plays. He's not a franchise guy, he's not Drew Brees. But with our running game and hopefully weekly improving defense, he doesn't need to be. And that's something Johnny needs to learn as well. We don't need the superstar, do everything QB. Just a guy who moves the chains and hits the open receiver.
