The list is pretty much as we expected.
Valera
Rocchio
Freeman

Morris

Perhaps...

But it doesn't mention Castillo.
Not counting Gonzalez and Kwan, thats ten.

Why would they protect O. Gonzalez now after letting him go to FA? Doesn't make any sense. Every other MLB team had the chance to just add him to the 40 roster, now they'd have to carry him on their 26. And that's subscription content on BA? Embarrassing.
My personal R5 list goes like this:
No brainers: Rocchio, Valera, Freeman
Must add: Palacios, Morris, Lavastida, Tena
Gotta add: Noel, Kwan, Cantillo, Pilkington
That's 11, most of them are instant depth in AAA, the others start in AA, so not far away.

Though intriguing it seems like Noel is just too far away, but Santander?

Santander had injury issues/ surgery recovery that helped him get stashed.
No such issues/ major surgeries for Noel so if anyone tried a repeat, there would be some investigative steps to clear.

Another wrinkle (potentially a good one) regarding Jose Tena and where he stands roster wise.....
Though an EXTREMELY SSS - in the AFL he has suddenly developed some "serious" plate discipline. In 15 games he has 9BB against 9K (0.6 BB a G). In 107 regular season games he had 27BB against 117K (0.25 BB a G) - then there is the reduction in Ks...

They're trying out robo umps though and BB/9 is sky high in the AFL, just saying.
Still good to see that he knows the zone and punishes pitches to hit

No final word. Pretty much everyone has been on vacation since winter meetings so no one is going to answer me back to clear it up.
Leagues database says 1 thing. Internal database says another. Fan sites agree with league database.
